Its not that I can't draw based off of a description, which sometimes I actually can, its that what she asked of me is pretty much IMPOSSIBLE for me to do.
. _ . Even if I could do it, it would take YEARS. She's seen my current capabilities, she knows I can't draw her request..
It could be just me, but she seems to be rather blind and deaf when it comes to doing anything with me..
((I swear to god, if this phone deletes what I wrote one more time I'm going to ******** snap it in half!))

That's how it is for most parents. They're delusional and believe you fart roses, even when you try to explain to them otherwise.
I don't take art requests from my mother, but that's also partially due to her being interested in a slightly different style than I am. She likes fairies and vampires in bizarre settings. I like old portraits with virtually no backgrounds.

THe way I look at this situation is that its not that your mother doesn't listen to you, or hear your answer about her request, it is more that she believes you can do it if you try. I don't know if she's a perfectionist or anything like that, but if she's like my parents, or many parents I have met, then she simply wants something for her child regardless of how good it comes out.
For example, my parents love just about anything I draw...whether it is towards their taste or not. At times, that gets annoying, because sometimes I want constructive critism that does not come from my sister (the only other artist in my family) all the time. But, that is what a parent is suppose to do: suppor their child, believe in them no matter what it is.

My parents always think whatever I draw is great, and I can never convince them otherwise.
My only advice is just keep telling her you can't do it. And if she doesn't listen, well then she'll have to keep wondering why she never got her art piece.
I think it's just parents, geesh..
