“Where am I?” asked Charlie as he looked around to his surroundings. In front of him was a swamp full of quicksand, and tar. Above him was a tree house and he just stood frozen when he heard someone climbing down. A man with gray ears that he remembered came over to him and jumped back in shock.
“Forest, Levi get down here now!” shouted Kallman as he just stared at what used to be his plant Charlie. Standing in front of him now was a human, a naked human luckily the leaves of the plants nearby covered his manhood.
Forest and Levi made it to where Kallman was and they too stared at Charlie. Charlie didn’t know what was so strange. Had they never seen a naked human before or maybe it was his green wavy hair that was scaring them.
“Charlie is that you?” asked Kallman hesitate to get any closer than he already was until they knew why his plant was suddenly a human.
“Yes, my name is Charlie, how do you know that?” asked Charlie. He barely remembered this wolf but he knew he had seen him before and the fact he couldn’t remember the wolf’s name was frustrating and he sensed fear in the other two.
“Listen Charlie, you may not know this but you were a plant for over ten years and now all of a sudden you’re human.” spoke Kallman. It had only been a year since the plant Charlie had swallowed Jeanette but still was it Jeanette that had turned Charlie into a plant and if so, why hadn’t he changed immediately after the sorceress was dead?
“I was a plant?” asked Charlie as he held up his left hand and stared at it. Was that why he wasn’t where he belonged? And was that the reason he didn’t remember the past ten or more years. How long had Charlie been a plant? Surely everyone in his homeland thought he was dead.
“Please tell me how long?” asked Charlie.
“Well probably an estimate of twenty six years.” spoke Kallman honestly.
“Oh dear.” spoke Charlie as he looked around and looked at himself more realizing he was naked.
“Sir, do you have clothes I could wear?” asked Charlie blushing because the lady had been standing there the entire time and hadn’t screamed or panic. It was almost like she was used to it, which meant the wolf boy and the lady must be a couple and the young man beside her was her son.
“Of course. Forest turn your head if you don’t mind and I’ll take this man up to our tree house.” spoke Kallman. Forest turned her head as Charlie followed Kallman up to the tree house where he dressed in jeans and a gray T-shirt. Forest and Levi came up behind them as Charlie was sitting on the couch and Kallman was trying to figure out how to fully explain why he had been a plant and why he was now a human again.
“Sir, what is your name?” asked Charlie trying not to be rude. He wanted to go home and tell Hanna he was alive but he had no clue where he was or how to get home from here.
“My name is Kallman. This is my wife Forest and my son Levi. Charlie where are you from? Do you remember?” asked Kallman.
“I’m from the wetlands. It’s a hidden region not many people know of it but I have no idea how to get there.” spoke Charlie missing his little sister. All the time he spent trying to protect her, he should have been protecting himself.
“The wetlands? You’re right I’m never heard of it that’s for sure.” spoke Kallman. Charlie just sighed and then Kallman noticed something he hadn’t before in Charlie’s hands was a bow and a bag full of arrows.
“You are an archer?” asked Kallman.
“Yes I was an archer but I’ve been a plant for so long I don’t remember how to shoot them. I’m lucky I remember how to walk after all this time.” spoke Charlie.
“I think I know just the man who can teach you. Forest do you think you can mind message to Daceria and tell her to get a hold of Shawn and ask him if he wants a student?” asked Kallman.
“Sure.” smiled Forest. “Daceria said no problem. He should be here within two days time.”
“Why are you people helping me, you don’t even know me.” spoke Charlie glad for the help but he was still confused and still very alone.
“Charlie, more than once when you were a plant you were a help to us, we are simply returning the favor, and besides you’re not our enemy. You may be human but you are a good one just like Adam.” smiled Kallman.
“Thank you.” spoke Charlie.
“It’s not a problem. Soon you’ll be an archer again and then we’ll get the group together and I’ll see if my sister knows anything of your lands.” spoke Kallman.
“Oh, thank you. I just want to see my sister again. I hope she is safe.” Spoke Charlie worried about Hanna. She would be an adult by now could she control the change of the blue aura within her. Oh Hanna, please, be safe.
