Hi all.

Just so that you all know, I love video. I have a passion for the stuff, and being able to create something visually stunning with my own bare hands is an amazing feeling. For the past almost three years, I have been doing this with weddings, and while I adore that, I'm in the mood to try something kind of different.

While talking to some friends, I have come up with an idea for a zombie movie. I am wanting to make it a dark comedy based on the seven stages of grief, and I like the idea of making it a musical a lot like Repo, the Genetic Opera.

In this, our protagonist loses everything. That being her job, her boyfriend, her home, everything. Of course, when worst comes to worst, you always have your health, right? Well, in this case, not so much.

In the first act, our protagonist is found very ill on a park bench and brought to a hospital where she goes through the seven stages of grief as she transforms from a miserable human being into a monster. If you are not familiar with the seven stages of grief, they are Shock or Disbelief, Denial, Bargaining, Guilt, Anger, Depression, and Acceptance and Hope.

In the second act, the final stage of grief, that being Acceptance and Hope, will really come into play as our protagonist accepts and even relishes in her new fate. She takes it as an opportunity to enact revenge upon those who have hurt her and made her life miserable, and in a very karmatic fashion. She may be dead, but that doesn't mean she's stupid!

I would love feedback on this idea from you guys. Can you think of ways to make it better? Is this a good idea or not?

Any feedback will be helpful.

That sounds like a great movie idea! I know it's just the bare bones of the story, but think about the extent of the zombie outbreak and how it affects the world as a whole. I've seen Repo, The Genetic Opera, and from that, I can say that you would need dark mood lighting and a killer soundtrack. Do you have anyone you know who does that style of music?

I am actually in the process of looking for musicians who are looking for publicity. Unfortunately, I can't give them more than that because we are literally on a shoestring budget. If you know of anyone who is a musician who wants some exposure in a feature length film, please let me know and I will be happy to talk to them when the script is finished.

I am really wanting some awesome mood lighting and color for this piece. For some reason, I'm seeing blue as a big color for this piece.

Thanks for your feedback.

I don't know any musicians like that, but I hope you can find some. Plus, I'm guessing that we live in different regions in the first place. What kind of budget do you have to work with? Do you have any sponsors or patrons to help you out?

As of right now, we have no budget at all. We do not have sponsors or patrons to help. All I have is a network of videographers who are up for a challenge and some friends who want to see this thing happen.

Do you know of any place to get sponsors or patrons?

Thanks.

No, but I know that it's done sometimes. Try local businesses. Tell them that you'll include their business in your film if they will give you a little money. I know that works with big budget movies. Then again, no one might care since it probably won't hit theaters. Then again small and large businesses have been known to sponsor various small scale events such as high school plays.
