it's for an ongoing contest that im definately not going to win since everyone these days prefers color over graphite i guess i dont blame them... but anyways - a week after i entered this one, I was just fiddle farting around with my arts and stuff- and i came across this one again and noticed her forehead is TOO long as in, vertically. I suck. oh well like she can tell the difference right? neutral anything else that i should hate my self over?

first off, I know which contest you entered in, the one for Keii right : D !!!! Let me tell you, that your pics were some of my favorite. I saw your art work when the contest first came out, and I thought your drawing was simply BEAUTIFULL!!!! I myself was thinking of submitting a life sketch like you towards the contest, but then I saw how wounderfully your drawing was done and hessitated haha. XD For someone who does realisitc drawing on a paper medium, I love how it came out! How did you get your picture in the computer so clean @_@ Mine always looks pixelated as hell when I trie that but yours looks perfect : D heart
Now first off, Your art is beautiful! : D your lighting is so nicely done, and your hair and volumes are really well defined, you can tell you've got compleat controle over your drawings and for me... thats worth a heck of a lot of brownie points. >: 3 I don't really think her forheads to long, and I see what you mean but man I REALLY REALLY had to look for it... just quickly like that you don't notice it... if you wanna fix it though you can possibly add some of her hair to her for head line.. which could help fill in the void... but the head itself seems pretty preportionate to me : 3
I have one more thing I noticed but if you go hating yourself for this I'll never forgive you D: < !!!!
All joke a side, your a really talented artist and I don't think you should blaste yourself over little things like this ; 3 but yea, the arm looks a little long I find for her preportions... either that or her neck is to short for her body proportions... BUT granted that pheonix isen't realy human neither... I haven't read her hole biography to know if her preportions are a little different than humans as well.. but is really minor I realy minor, I wouldn't worry to much about it : 3 You drew a beautiful pic!!!

Yeah, that's really beautiful! It doesn't look too long to the point of being unnatural, and it looks easily fixable... you can fill in some more hair where the hair/forehead begins, that opening area. =3

Oh... I was going to enter that contest... I don't think her head is disproportionate. It's still within reasonable variation of the norm. There really is no perfect way to define facial proportions such as foreheads, since frankly, some people just have more forehead then other. It doesn't look exaggerated so you're good.

It was in the forefront of my mind, because I was trying to figure out how to shape my eyebrows based on my facial structure last night. XD I had foreheads on the brain...... literally?

I agree with that. We notice the good or bad about our drawings better than anyone else, because we know our capabilities and are more familiar with it.
I seriously wish I could draw like that though xd

Well.. I try to do my best which seems never good enough, I usually lose(in art contests on gaia) against tablet artists, no matter their skill mostly because of color, which is something I don't and can't do- im just not a good colorer.
So I really have no faith in what little ability I have in the virtual and real world.

Your work is beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I'm a CG artist, and I cant even do have of what you can with graphite. Here's what you need to consider. The gaia community is heavily biased toward anime/ manga, and CG art styles. Therefore more traditional styles, unfortunately can be easily overlooked, or ignored. Do not take the response of the Gaian community as any measure of your worth as an artist.

Oh you did this for Keiiii's contest, this is really good!
Personally from my perspective i don't think the forehead is big at all, but i guess i wouldn't know since im not that great at drawing myself xD
But this picture looks almost like a photo to me, it looks to me that you have mastered shading and proportions on the mouth/eyes/eyebrows/cheeks, etc. Excellent work!

Last art contest I entered, (out of all submissions, which wasnt a whole lot since this was a guild art contest) I was probably in the top three best ones. I still lost to a poorly drawn girl in a bikini. Ive also seen art that deserved to win 1st get second. Even without color your art is awesome though! Its their loss if they dont want to pick awesome art though

I have to agree with everyone here. Your art is amazing and you really shouldn´t get discouraged just cause you lost some contests here on gaia. No matter what style you have, what medium you use or how good you are there will always be someone who loves it and someone who hates it.
To further add to your awesomeness though... You said that you lose to tablet art right.. at the same time i´m sitting here.. getting crazy inspired and telling myself that I need to improve my tablet skills massivly in order to even be allowed to compare my art with yours XD
