this is a drawing I'm doing for my AP art class in school...but I have no idea what I should do for the background...any advice on color? or any suggestions on what would look good in the background? this is in colored pencil ^^

If you wanted to keep it simple, I would use a contrasting color like a plum-ish purple to offset the green, and draw attention to the girl's face. I would keep it fairly simlke though, because theres already so much detail.

I think purple would be a good compliment to your drawing, It would help bring out the colours in your hair as well as not blend with the colours in your face.
Btw Your hair is GORGEOUS!!! : D You've really put a lot of work on it, and its shows! its very beautifully drawn and I ador the way you coloured in the hair ^_^
