I've deffinately had times when I'd go for hours and hours on end without taking a break with my art, but with Photoshop CS4 it feels like I have to do so to get anywhere really. It always leaves my arm achy afterwards! ; . ;

Anyone gots a remedy? What tools do you guys generally use?

: O !!!!! your arm hurts after drawing in photoshop really!!!... hmmm lets see... maybe its the position in which your drawing? like the way your siting or the way your hand is placed? I have a friend at work that when she draws at work, because her hand is high on the table it causes her shoulders to hurt. Maybe its something similar to you? How long do you go before taking a break when you draw?

You know... I've never honestly paid attention to how much time I spend at it before I take a break. I know once I did two pictures that took all afternoon in one sitting. ; u ;
WORTH IT!

Uhm, but maybe you're right. If my desk were lower, or I had one of those lil platforms underneath my desk for the keyboard/mouse I think it'd actually help... I like my screen being up higher, but my arm prolly sits funny trying to color.

PERHAPS.

I can honestly say, even if it always hurts after I color, I won't stop, though. * u *

Doing some stretches will help. I get that same problem if I draw for too long. Though I get most of my pain on the top of my hand. It's just that we're straining our muscles and sometimes the nerves and not giving them a break. It would be better if you heeded your body's plea for a break. Better to take a small break than to mess up your arm.

My doctor tells me to wear a wrist brace so that I'm forced to give my hand a break.

But I know how you feel. I sometimes just wanna work straight through and will work for 7+ hours without eating, drinking, or going to the restroom. Only shifting in my seat occasionally just to relieve the pain in my body from staying still for soo long. I don't like losing that flow that you get into while working.

Haha, that's exactly how I feel. x P
Yeah, sometimes I'll pause to roll my wrist in a circle and it pops a few times and then I'll get right back to it.

*nods* Lol, I usually just do a quick stretch and go right back to it..... but I'm getting a bit better... XD;; I've started making myself take "real" breaks.
