What I think is interesting is: I followed the links and found that roleplay guild I was talking about.... "wolves of eternity" was its name.

Ya... its dead as a doornail now. last post was Oct 22nd. post before that was Oct 3rd....... guess the owner should've teamed up with RAWR when he had the chance.

you were in wolves of eternity? how was it? I was kinda sad to see its not doing so well anymore. I was half expecting to see 20,000 posts by now. Admittedly, I wasn't surprised to see it fail. Alex the leader was kinda tweaky.

When I saw the condition WoE was in, I invited the members into RAWR... even Alex, although he's probably still upset with me.


What we are doing here is we are getting feedback, information, general thoughts etc for a RAWR roleplay spearheaded mostly by Revolution and myself. He's got the fictional storyline part and I'm swirling in the RAWRness. Right now we are pretty much working separately, him to his task and mine to mine. All I know about his work is that there will be different tribes of animals fighting to some end purpose, similar to what you experienced in WoE, but with more freedom. As typical with RAWR, the administration's main function is solve disputes. If you want to launch a wolf off in a purple, black, silver, and cobalt blue rocket to go explore Saturn and fight alien sheep people, your more than welcome to do so.... admin will just write something into the story to accommodate you.

Myself, I'm looking to RAWR's history for details and asking RAWR's creativity to spice em up into something suitable for roleplay. I've been throwing out little bits here and there to see how RAWR handles itself in roleplay to try to create something the guild is going to like. (poor howlerd with his crazy carnivals.... RAWR is having alot of fun with it, but RAWR took that one right from him didnt they... I just about fell off my chair dying when I saw shan with that stupid monkey smile smile smile smile smile howlerd, I know how you feel, I STARTED this guild and it's ALWAYS surprising me like that. lol)

The roleplay will have bio-sheets, profiles, some sort of health system (i want characters to be able to die if possible), pictures, maps with locations etc. Right now, any suggestions on what to include are most welcome.

If that is the case then I would like to be the illustrationists/graphic designed/ what ever artist you wanna call it for the maps/pics/etc. I am really good at it and hopefully I mIGHT be able to use it in my porfolio, but I doubt it. I mean digitally im not exactly college level but pretty close (i mean I haven't been drawing digitally as much as I have in traditional).
I'm really good at creating new things and stuff! biggrin

Yes, this clan concept is in. That's part of what revolutionevolution is working on.

I was thinking maybe grouping 'like' animals into tribes, or possibly doing it more by location so that you wouldn't be forced to be a certain type of animal to be on a certain team. I was also considering whether to have people choose their tribe when they make their character profile or if should do a random drop onto whatever tribe. Things to consider.

This aspect is really Rev's cup of tea and I'm not going to step on the work he's doing.

I've still got alot of work ahead of me, but the rp im working on is starting to look this: Give me some feedback if it sounds like a good idea and something you would be interested in.

a post armageddon Earth in which any species of animal can exist. Humans, wolves, dragons, leprechauns, whatever species you can think of, past present future or fantasy would be possible. All can be balanced into the RP so you won't have Godzilla running around smashing everything and pwning the RP. The character "Godzilla" would be an OK option, you could do that.... and in his own right would probably be a menace to Tokyo buildings, but he will have a weakness. Slow, cumbersome, grunnys laughing at him as they steal his s**t cuz he's just too dammed big to fight back.... lol...

Economic systems and governments have broken down to tribes bartering with each other for survival. War, fighting, hunting, acquiring territory, spying, death, peace, exploration, love, etc will all be possible (Yes, characters can die, but your main character won't die unless you abuse it's abilities.) The main character however, CAN be dazed, imprisoned, taken hostage, so it's not a god-mod. It just means that you don't see all that time and energy of building the character go up in smoke by a random sword swipe.

To provide staples for existence, the characters will have jobs. For example, a wolf might be a hunter selling extra kills on the market to a person who is a blacksmith.... because it would make no sense for a wolf to be a blacksmith cuz he doesn't have opposeable thumbs lol.

There will be no single main enemy such as how WoE had the laboratory. Real life usually isnt like that. In this RP, the main source of conflict will be determined by you and your character. As you rise to glory, you WILL make friends and enemies along the way.

I could talk more on how things are going to work, but what do you think of it so far?

idk that idea sounds wonderful but it really doesn't have any plot to it. I mean you HAVE to have SOME kind of opposing force or tragedy or event to make a story or roleplay. Otherwise it's just mindless random crap that everyone will get bored at. I mean even comic wise you have to have some type of plot. complete with people, or in this case animals, that are fighting against or doing something..

it could be something like oblivion in which you can make your own choices and climb ranks and stuff, choosing your own path.
omg we could have like or own npc/mules that could be like the shopkeeper, or a person who gives you a quest or something, or maybe sells items or something.

NOW your getting the idea. cept eventually, hopefully there will be no NPC's but all characters with real life people operating them.... very little coming from a roleplay master with godlike abilities.

I'm open to suggestions about the plot. I'm seeing the problem you are, but within the problem lies the solution. Think about what keeps you interested in gaia and you'll see what I mean.

I need to do more research on it. I'll have a chunk of time to sit down with it this weekend. I know right now, my research has been showing that theres alot of RP's out there started by noobs, same thing rehashed.. it's either sucked from the get-go, been completely unoriginal, or been unrealistic like having 19 year old brigade re generals. Meanwhile, we've gotta satisfy RAWR members who are completely insane and interested in breaking the rules and being creative.

Ok good deal on the art thing. I'm going to try to get more than just one artist..... its a big job.

Here, let me give you a sample of the feel of the RP. Hopefully I can illistrate how the gameplay will work and where the source of adventure lies (IF i can cuz im only so good.)

They are R.A.W.R....

That's what I got so far. It needs some editing but yeah. What do you think?

In a world where humans have ceased to exist for millinia', and clans of animals are caught up in their own wars over the most trivial things, where a somehow so called 'non existant' evil force pagues the land itself, creating chaos and hatred among others, a band of animals, a like, and different in their own way, will rise up with a hope, and a dream to one day better the corrupted and violent world they live in. They are R.A.W.R....

That's what I got so far. It needs some editing but yeah. What do you think?

only point is that humans DO exist in our world.... you gotta figure raids on towns and such. (I want to host a raid on towns one night where we go in beating and torturing noobs for information LOLOLOLOOL).

With my story, it would be based on "the end is near" thread where sheep people take over the Earth, then dragons, then mecha, finally the Earth is so destroyed, all the advanced civilizations leave. All that's left are the animals, humans who have dug in, and any other species we need to write in for ppl. Problem IS.... if the world is trashed like that, its hard to sustain a good RP. maybe if we threw in a millenia for it to recover -winks-.

Another idea I came up with was where instead of post-human, we could do PRE-human.... back in world history where humans were still tribes. We have a tribe of humans start trying to take over the animals territory as the source of conflict. IDK how to write in the extra species yet.... so far the best I got is some dammed enchanted forest nobody understands, but it needs to be better.

Right now I'm focusing on the engine of the RP moreso than the story or plot. I'm planning something that uses dice like D&D. How the world works, conflict, weights and measurements, towns, economies, etc etc etc... its a freaking nightmare. Nice part is, the engine will work for any story or plot we (RAWR) comes up with. NOTHING is concrete or unchangeable.

had an idea last night. we should write in the battle arena. Nothing special or new about the concept, just the battle arena smile You've seen it in like every game ever made. Anybody remember the battle arena in FF7? like that.

How it will function will be that you can fight NPC's with the dice engine, with or without a mod puppeting the NPC if one isn't online. You pay a small fee to get in, then you fight an easy enemy. You win, you get a small prize.

Make a choice.....

take the cheap-o prize and leave the arena or fight a slightly harder enemy for a slightly better prize. You cannot leave to replenish yourself between rounds. Keep going for better and better prizes. However, if you lose to a monster, you win nothing.


Also you can challenge other players here. For a real people type fight, PM the person the challenge, agree on the stakes, agree on the terms, PM the terms to a mod so there's no questions about it later, make your thread, and have at it. (shan's fight club). Keep in mind, anything is ok as long as its agreed upon in the terms set beforehand. You guys can godmod and blow up the universe for all I care, because its all contained within the arena.

For example, raisedpassion vs shan, raised putting up 10kg of meat, shan putting up a vorpal blade, dice (no), godmod (yes), limit (30 posts). Winner takes home both the meat and the blade. If shan and I can't decide a winner on our own like civilized animals, a mod decides it for us.

This will be good for a pack fight where the second in command wants to overthrow the leader.

Also, I'm going to figure it so that you can take a few friends in with you to fight NPC's, together.


Funny part is.... I needed to build it to test my combat engine with different animals and different weapons. I got to thinking and was like "HEY!!!! THATS A REALLLY GOOD IDEA"

About the human thing. I think it would be kind of ummm stupid (I hate using that word it sound sso harsh. :[ ) to do it in the past because tthere are waaay to many things to do it. How about the humans finally trached their world so much that it all started crumbling and they were all forced to live on a polluted Earth. But then a millinia passes and the Earth has repaired itself mostly, except over the centuries the animals have taken on a bipedal form and have 'powers' and stuff. Almost like in fairy tales. The humans still exist but there is n=only a small amount, considering there are other sentient bipedal beings (animals) that live there two and they all either live nomadically or have sedentary agriculture and stay in one place in tribes. BUt since its the future the weapons, even though resembling bows arrows, swords, guns adn stuff they are far more advanced adn high tech. And the animals have this grudge against the humans for polluting their world still. The final straw, which creates RAWR, is when the Humans pop siginificantly increases with in a short period of time and start trying to take over again. But now the animals are fighting back. Thus creating RAWR.

erm? bunnies and hamsters walking around on two legs talking and shooting magic missiles at humans? I'd have to get used to that one, but if it's what RAWR wants, we could do it.


You mentioned there'd be way too many things to doing the world history thing. I'm coming to understand that serious roleplayers like realistic detail that they can fall into. What 'things' (problems) were you looking at from the world history perspective? In a way, its an easy solution actually.

With the sheep-world smile You gotta figure, first of all, how did the animals, less intellegent than humans evolve to overcome humans, then start walking talking like humans. etc.....

Then the world is all new, so you gotta figure systems of government, currencies and economies, physics of the world - you mentioned "powers" and "like fairy tails", hinting that magic exists in the world, physical layouts and maps from scratch, the weapons, fuel sources...... I mean the list goes on and on. And then when you get someone like me who's looking for grey areas of the story to take advantage of....

The nice part about world history is that the answers are all already there. All that needs to be done is research which time period / civilization / tribe to be modeled. Once you get that, all your physics, weapons, governments, economics, racial classifications, demographics, everything is there. And if someone is able to hunt the grey areas and find an unanswered question, we've got the history backing us.... or THEM... lol....
