xxxxxxxxxSlaves. Werewolves and Vampires.xxxxxxxx The woods were silent; the only movement was a girl sitting near the creek. The slightest movement did not cause a sound, though. She was not clumsy like humans making noise because their movement weren't fluid and graceful. No, she was different, anyone could tell that. Her chest moved up and down as she took in deep breaths. Her breathing broke the silence, mostly because she wanted it to break the silence. No longer did she want to be alone. She had had enough of it for one day. Her breaths got deeper and slower until they stopped. It was not an essential thing for her survival so there was no point in continuing with it. The only reason she usually did it was to pretend that lived a normal life like her parents. It was rare that she ever felt normal; it was the reason for her avoiding mirrors or anything else with a reflective surface. She didn't want to see all that she had become.
Her hands hit the ground hard. No pain, though. Her body just collapsed on the ground. Sadness pulsed through her veins. Everything around her was changing. All of it had to do with that one night. The night she snuck out of the house. If only she could go back in time and fix what happened. Maybe convince her childhood self that being adventurous was stupid. It would only lead to sadness and heartbreak. And eventually betrayal and war. Oh yes, she had started a war. Well, the war had yet to start, but it would soon. And if she went back in time than no longer would she be plagued with this curse. This horrible horrible curse of having to live forever. Forever. She was going to have to deal with her mistake forever.
A war, she thought. The girl had started a war between two immortal species. A war about nothing but the possession of her. She was the new Helen of Troy, except this war would be a lot bigger than the one mentioned in the history books. They would continue to fight until one of them was totally wiped out. Or until the problem was ended, meaning she would have to sacrifice herself. Not an easy feat, but she would do it. She just had to remember all that he had taught her about killing an immortal. The girl felt like dying right now. She was causing the few people she cared about pain and suffering. It was a painful feeling knowing that she was the reason behind everything.
The girl sat up from lying on the ground. Her face was unusually wet. She was crying. It had been awhile since she actually cried. Hadn't happened since that night she got lost. The cold tears ran down her face. She scooted to the edge of the creek. Her hands hovered over the water as she examined them. She was just in awe of how much the change had affected her. Her tan skin was no longer. It had disappeared and left behind pale skin. So pale it seemed translucent. She dipped her hands in the water, bringing it up to her face. The cold water was refreshing against her cool skin. Oh how she wished her touch was warm once again. That's mostly why she fell in love with him. He was warm. He was selfless. He was everything she wasn't.
Her hands moved up to the hood on her cape. She pushed it down revealing beautiful, glittering black hair. She hovered over the water looking at her reflection for the first time. It saddened her knowing her blond hair was gone. Her fingers rans through her hair twirling the end pieces. Her eyes too, were gone. The piercing green eyes were now pale blue. Her teeth were pretty much the same except she had retractable fangs. The girl retracted them hating the sight of them.
She was no longer the only one in the woods. They had come for her. She knew they were coming. Of course he would send for her. She was surprised the others hadn't grabbed her first. They were closer. Anyways, she knew she had to go with them. She had to fix everything and that started with admitting the truth. The girl clenched her eyes shut. Fangs sunk into her skin, causing her to pass out. Back to the castle.

The Blood.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The Fangs.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The Change.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The beings of the night are not the usual ones you read about in books and see on the movie screen. They are different. A combination of everything, basically.
The vampires of the story are still immortal (to some extent). There are a few ways they can be killed; two to be exact. A bite from a werewolf to the jugular can kill them. The saliva of a werewolf is deadly when mixed with vampire blood. It is the most painful way of death sicne it doesn't kill them instantly. It is like changing except in reverse. Pain spreads through the whole body as it is stripped of it's immortality. The pain subdues before you bleed to death. Not the most graceful death. Also, something called black fire can kill them. And it kills them instantly. It is not really fire, though. It's a powder that is put in water turning it black. Someone drinks it and then they fall down dead. Unlike a werewolf bite, it is painless and they remain beautiful. Black fire is supposedly a myth since no one has ever seen it. Neither have they seen someone create it. But that is because it is top secret only a select few are trusted with its forbidden recipe.
Being able to be killed is not the only difference. They are able to go out in the sun if they are a half-breed (aka changed). Pure bloods can outside in the sun if they have their charm. Most are located on necklaces and rings. These charms are bewitched, obviously. Vampires don't eat garlic, but they do not fear it. It is just an unappealing taste. Along with pumpkins, fish, and strawberries.

Calender (November 1920) November Twenty First through Twenty Ninth - she ran away to the werewolves; the last day they captured her at the creek November Thirtieth - she has just arrived back home from running away November Thirty First - she is put on trail; her husband comes home from visiting the werewolves
Important Places The forest - the separating feature between the vampires and the werewolves. The forest is not very wooded; the trees have a distinct pattern making it easy to be spotted. Fog is always settled in the forest. It's what makes it mysterious yet interesting. In the midst of the forest is a creek, the only source of water.
