	The Lord Of The Rings films, during an interview director Peter Jackson praised the humility and amiability of Sir Ian Mc Kellen. He recalled an example regarding the siege of Gondor, which is paraphrased: McKellen: Why doesn't Gandalf just use his magic to defeat them all? Jackson: The staff is out of batteries, and because of the war the alchemist's shop is closed and he can't get new ones. McKellen: Okay.
