SHe's most famous for her book Practical Magic since it was made into a film. I've read two of Hoffman's books, so I'll post my thoughts on those.
The Foretelling

Reading about the Amazon women's culture was interesting, and Hoffman did a good job of showing a few of the various reactions that women can have to rape.
Green Angel

It pertains to a teenaged girl mourning the death of her family and finding the will to live (metaphorically rather than just literally) again. In my opinion, something this short should have been more potent.
