Or like your pop said, clothes.

I usually paid off my credit cards, since I didn't want to deal with their interest, along with my car payment, and student loans.

So I let the car and loans roll over time to time, but all my credit cards are paid off ^_^

Course...since I'm not working anymore, I had to hide them all so I won't use them anymore..

One other thing...In most cases, don't ever EVER close a credit account...I hear that affects your credit negatively.

That's good for an idea.

But it doesn't have everything.

Talk to someone who works with a bank or credit card company. They can tell you EVERYTHING.

Yeah, I'm going to head to my bank after printing out all the information to their various credit cards.

I got a letter from one of my aunts, telling me to watch it and not get stupid with them. My two cousins, whom are in college, owe about probably nearly $100k in debt together. eek

Get a general use credit card and make small payments to establish that you can use a credit card. It is a useful tool for emergence and the bonus you get from getting a good rep cannot be overlooked. I think American Express has a system that you have to pay off each month, but I could be talking out of my a**.
