This is random, but I often ponder it... Who pays for dinner when two guys/ two girls go out? (I am a straight female, and the guy always pays for my dinner on dates. I know this is 2010 and I am being old fashioned, but I'm stuck in my ways.) So who pays?

I was never classy enough for dinner. But I suppose if you wished to honour that kind of traditional, I suppose the more dominant person in the relationship would take the 'male' role.

On most dates, my previous boyfriend would insist that he pay for everything. I'd rather go dutch though, 'cause then I don't feel like I'm in debt.

My girlfriend usually pays, because all of my money gets put into my college fund. But I bring her flowers occasionally, which supposedly makes up for it.

I would say that the person who suggest the dinner pay. But if you are not sure then suggest that you pay for the meal if you have a gracious date then they might refuse and you should be happy and accept.

Sullen Sweet Juliet My girlfriend usually pays, because all of my money gets put into my college fund. But I bring her flowers occasionally, which supposedly makes up for it. I then proceed to kill the flowers 'cause I forget to water them. XD In most cases it's considered polite for the dominate one to pay... Unless you're broke, in which case whoever has money should pay so that way you don't get kicked out. XD

Unless it's a special occasion and one or the other has asked the other out, taking turns works nicely for me.
