We were getting ready to do a runthrough of the show but the band was warming up, so the instructor had us do the work on our own. I did a flag toss and the wind caught it at the very wrong moment, and I tossed it kind of incorrectly in the first place. So it went up, and then when it came down, the butt smacked me right above my left eyebrow. I went down and my friends thought that I was going to lose an eye. The drum major even suggested that I sit out, but I didn't. All I had was a bump on the head that lasted for a week, and not even a bruise. The entire scenario looked worse than it felt, but it was pretty memorable.
