I think one of the main draws continues to be that the monk, even if I'm using athletics and not acrobatics, feels like it would be acrobatics. The barbarian gives that showing-off strength and stunts feel.
Also comes with a utility that gives you a bonus to breaking objects. That wouldn't help on the leaping and climbing, but it seems like a neat bonus to me.
Besides. Who would ever think to make a non-combat barbarian?

Psychofish Besides. Who would ever think to make a non-combat barbarian? *raises hand* Rain Yupa Here's Felix Whitewind, Half-Elven Barbarian, just in case. Basically, if Brin goes melee, I'll take the Seeker. If Brin goes ranged, I'll take the Barbarian. Also, Felix has 3 powers that heal teammates. I lol'd. I couldn't think of anything too tragic for Felix's background, but that could just be the tiredness. Remember: Felix's level 2 feat was going to be Skill Focus: Diplomacy.

Oh. Right, I'd forgotten.
Clearly we need a full team of non-combat barbarians.
You can do the talking, I'll climb things and break doors and chests and stuff open.
...ummm.. I'm... not sure what else barbarians can get good at. I guess you could probably find a way to manage a stealthy dex-base barbarian. Heck, I guess it'd even be possible to make a ritual casting barbarian. Not that that'd be likely to be effective...

....that'd be the other scary part about a barbarian team.
Every encounter, struggling a little.
Suddenly, DM pulls out all the stops.
....5 simultaneous rages.
Everything dies. Horribly. Horribly, horribly, horribly.
