Well if it's angel wings or whatever it's best to look at the structure of the wing first.
Starting with the bone structure. It's simple but check
this out. As you can see the structure is somewhat similar to our anatomy. there is a bend in it like our elbows and there is another joint there like the wrist of a human. So our bone structure is somewhat similar though we bend in different ways. So I've learned to think of the human bone structure when I don't have a reference but it's best to learn how a bird's bone structure bends.
Adding the feathers. IF you look at
this you will find that there is roughly 3 layers of feathers. Starting from the top they are smaller but as you go down they become longer. And it's important to know that there are not endless amounts of layers. Also the length and size may very depending on the bird.
