Special Forces Unit

Well, I've had an idea for a long time about how to effectively use gas masks and smoke screens and whatnot. Hellsing Episode 5 8:30+ gave me idea for it. What you could do, is launch tear-gas/smoke bombs from, possibly a Milkor_MGL 32 or a EX_41 (Basically a multi-shot M79) or even a standard M203, and then fire into a group of enemies. The smoke screen and/or tear gas would disorient the enemy far beyond their ability to recognize anything or respond, and although this gas wouldn't lethal, the units firing the grenades could fire shots into the gas cloud, or inside the gas cloud, and take out a bunch of disoriented units. Fast, easy, efficient, and if done right doesn't break the Geneva convention.

These units would of course, have to body-suits, and gas-masks and thermal/night-vision/infrared cameras, or have these multiple view scopes on their rifles, which would be expensive of course, but I can see these kinds of people being able to take out large unit structures and effectively reducing the ability of any infantry unit, and even some mechanized units in small numbers. You could send four of these guys out, who'd have a field day ambushing and taking out large groups, with a really high kill to self causality ratio.

I think it would work, but there might be better things, so, I'd like to hear your guys responses and what you think of it, and how I could improve it. blaugh

Perhaps the use of a mixture between partial-cover gas masks (the kind that cover the mouth and nose, but not the eyes) and multi-vision goggles, such as the type used in the Splintercell series would be effective in longer ranged engagements where the units in question do not have to enter the gas cloud, but may be within range of wandering wisps that happen to wander into their ranks. More preferably, though, would be more sophisticated gas mask that covers the entire face but has multiple vision modes (similar to the Predator's mask, at best, but more realistically just one with shortened goggles like in the earlier idea, but designed to lock into place in the eye-sockets of the mask).

Mhhm. Gas masks anyways to protect the user, and yes firing into the cloud. Like six grenades towards the enemy, cloud the area, then storm of machine gun fire properly aimed and the enemy goes down.

lol yar xd

Mustard gas takes up to 24 hours to take affect and only affects surface tissue exposed to the material- some of it.

So the Inclination is leaning towards a modded EX-41 grenade launcher, the Milkor, or a Frag-12 Variant.

As for regular high powered munitions, the XM109 and similar styled weaponry seem alright. As far as machine guns are concerned, possibly exploiting armor piercing explosive incendiary rounds is always an option.
