Ah it's good to finally have a chance to delve into this guild. Been on Hiatus because my computer decided it needed a new hard drive for quite some time. Shame on it. XD
To the point: I'm looking to make suspended art to hang from my ceiling. I once drew a butterfly in a bubble. Well I can make the butterfly but a 3D bubble to suspend from my ceiling is another task in itself. I've been given the suggestion of taking a balloon, blowing it up, gluing yarn to it to make an orb and then popping the balloon. I like the idea and I'm willing to compromise to it, unless some one can give me an idea on how to make a bubble for the butterfly that i can hang from the ceiling.
any thoughts or better compromising ideas? smile

Well you would need to use paper for support, than yarn. If you are using glue for it, after it drys you could cut a hole in the mold and try that way to get it more 3D.

They have clear plastic spheres that have two hemispheres separate so you can put something inside and close it. What is it called though. I remember using them YEARS ago. I'll have to look around and get back to you.

Buy a cheep, plastic, clear, jar (like a fake fishbowl or something) and tie a piece of string around it like a cadge for an interesting effect or you could just tie a piece of string around the lip of the jar and hang it like that! smile (I have never tried hanging anything from my ceiling really cuse everything gets destroyed by our (my family's) and my cat's so srry if it doesn't work!)
