Wicked

Has anyone seen Wicked? I saw it last night on Broadway, and it was AMAZING. I highly recommend it if you get the chance!

i remeber seeing that a couple of months ago it
was wonderful but it was my first time seeing a broadway show so when
it was intermission i thought the show was over until my friend told me
sweatdrop but anyway the show was amazing

It's a musical. The story is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz.

"Defying Gravity" was so good that it could have been the ending number! My first Broadway show was Spamalot... I wasn't really a fan. I live close enough to the city that I really should go more often; I've been told that Wicked will ruin all future shows for me though because it sets the bar so high.

Idina Menzel was an amazing Elphaba. Especially in Defying Gravity.

My friend played the soundtrack all the time when we worked together...good times. Pop-u-lar!

It is also a good example of what happens to a creative work when the copyright runs out (in this case on L. Frank Baum's Oz books). Others can take it and go in wildly new directions without ruining the main.

I love Wicked!
I watched it for the first time in the Gershwin Theater in New York, during my school field trip to the East Coast in '07.

I've never seen it (as musicals are rarely ever my thing), but it sounds really, really interesting. If anything, I'll listen to the music alone and enjoy it. The only Broadway show I've ever seen is The Lion King, and that was when I was a pre-teen. I loved it and would go see it right now if I had the chance. The music, costumes (favorite part) and story are all phenomenal onstage and in real life.
