Hm, I know this is gonna create lots of controversy.... but this is my opinion:
~Should you make (or wear) "lolitified" converse shoes?
As long as you can pull off a well-coordinated outfit, go for it! xd It's not like someone can force you to wear a "pure" lolita outfit. I'm sure others would be very vexed if you call yourself a lolita because of the wrong footwear. But then you can say that it almost it's your "own style" inspired by lolita fashion.
~Do I think this is a good idea?
Yes, again, I think fashions can stem from the lolita fashion. I think it's a great idea to look for "lolita inspired" outfits. It's a refreshing to see a more laid-back style that some one can wear for a daily bases.
~Is it strictly a lolita footwear?
No
~ Are those shoes cute?
Heck yes! And I want to wear them also! biggrin I would probably wear it with a blouse and carpi jeans that stil has a hint of the lolita fashion in it smile

I think it would be fine, like I said, for casual lolita. With a plain cutsew and skirt and socks, I say those shoes wouldn't seem too out of place. Not too badly.
But when it's full-blown lolita, I try and wear my boots, even with my height. o___e

Boots with my height?
Not at all. But when I wear them to school I never hear the end of it. It doesn't upset me when they call me a giant or anything, but it does get a weeeeee bit annoying after a couple hours. XD

Actually I have a pair of Converse that make me think of loli. They are black with a red floral skull pattern and a sewn on converse logo with lace on the edges.

I think C a t h a r s i s has the right idea. Converse can seem a little grungy with lolita or any dressy style, so you might avoid adding too much that could make them look overdone or fail them. A simple painted pattern would be wonderful on black. Also, since you said you wear them a lot, I am guessing you wear them with jeans and such, or whatever it is that you wear when not in lolita? (unless you are lolita 356/y) So I think dolling them up would be a nice way to incorporate a bit of lolita into your regular clothes too. Keep it simple and neat and PRACTICE before you ruin your shoes if your going to use paint or cut anything! gonk
Also, if you are of legal working age in your state, you might try asking school counselors if they know of places you can work, student centers, tutoring, maybe a teacher needs a babysitter or something. They might have pamphlets for volunteer and student work programs. Might count as extracurricular credits too.
