Hold on! It's not over yet--there's a chance that the Supreme Court may declare this law Unconstitutional and strike it down. Various states have sued the Federal Gov't over it and Mark Levin is also bringing up a case against the same as well and on top of that, the Justices have an axe to grind after Obama publicly humiliated them during this year's State of the Union.

In any case, we gotta take back the House and Senate this November--that way we can have this monstrosity of a law repealed.
They're declaring it unconstitutional because it forces people to buy a commodity. All they have to do is take that part out.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have plans to pull something like that on us. Still, there are no provisions that say a bill cannot be repealed which I do remember either Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, or someone else onboard with the whole thing said in a public statement--said statement was likely a bluff if anything, so it's still repealable (but obviously won't happen until this coming November at the earliest, provided the House and Senate come back under GOP control).

Guys I just read that bill and it's nothing like I thought it was. I'm as opposed to socialism or universal healthcare as any of you, but that's not what this is. It just makes it so that health insurance companies cannot deny you coverage or drop you from your plan because of a health problem that comes up, or any health condition you've had. If anything even somewhat resembling universal healthcare ever came up, I would resist it with the utmost intesity, but this new bill is not a bad thing.

That still doesn't make it a good thing. It still means that people have to buy insurance or be fined, and that taxes will go up.

Oh really? Well I didn't read all of it... I hate how they always have to tack a bunch of s**t on.

Well, it has to be paid for somehow. But yes, I agree, there is way too many pages to that darn thing.

Yeah. The fact that it has that many pages to begin with makes one wonder if those who wrote the bill ever intended it to even be read. Even your average, everyday bill is still pretty big and tends to have lots of "Beltway Lingo" that gets peeps like me confused when I attempt to read it. A difficult-to-read bill is likely to turn off peeps (and I had to resist stopping reading it before finishing it) and thus we wouldn't get the big picture, so one would question the motives of those who drafted the bill if they intended for the bill to be this big and unfeasible to read without having to set aside time to do so. o.o

Yeah, runners. The source of America's more annoying taxes. President can't get rid of them without vetoing the entire bill, and you know our psuedo-President wouldn't do that.
