When we're all not busy taking cosplay pictures, going to panels, etc. we're loitering and shopping in the Dealer's Room and Artist Alley
Share your stories, complaints, opinions, etc. on these two important convention rooms!

Guess I shall go first o 3o

So dealer's room = both love and hate. I love shopping/looking around there, but I hate that I spend lotsa money there .x . ((on average, I spend +$200 ))
Airborne knows this, but there's this one booth I have to go to/buy from every con we go to-- The JRock booth. I usually treat myself to one of their imports since I luffle their stuff. I've bought a $80 shirt from there and a $110 shirt before that, and I bought a GazettE outfit that was originally $210 but since the dude sees me so often/I was the only one that knew what the outfit was from, he gave it to me for $160 ((happy-happy joy-joy)) And I also buy a bajillion pictures from there too .x .
I've also started buying contacts from the dealer's room too, and before you all complain that they're so expensive and what not-- They're actually cheaper than ones online (since I don't have to pay shipping) and can last for years if you take care of them properly *nodnod*
I'm trying to cut back on my spending, so I usually limit myself to two sets of contacts, a JRock booth purchase, and the missing Gintama cellphone charms I need if I find them

ARTIST ALLEY! I buy looooootsa stickers .x . And the occassional cute thing I just have to have ((this year it was a stuffed Kirby))
Me and Airborne and Sai Bunny also worked in the Artist Alley at ConnectiCon this year, and for the most part it was pretty awesome (we sold kandi/rave accessories and cyber/dread falls)
We're hoping to do it at Anime Boston for 2010 but if we can't get a table, we'll most likely do ConnectiCon again *nodnod*

I think this is my favorite place at the whole con. its lame but I could spend forever just looking around at all the stuff and the people.

I don't really have any memorable stories(well I might but I can't think of any right now) but I do have lots of precious moments. Like when I go in with my friends and they fangasm and have a spaz attack over and item they find. And just all the cool things I've gotten over the years with greats deals. Its a fun fun place. Even if some of the venders can be pretty crabby. -_-

ah, one time my brother and I were in the dealers room, just window shopping at the moment. Then a Trigun figurine caught my brother's eye so he went to go look at it and when he pick it up, it was already open. The owner wasn't happy at all so he forced my brother to pay for it and he already has that figurine. So now he has two exact figurines in his room .__.'''

I was in the Artist Alley of AWA this year, and I had found a girl that had some adorable decora-type items. (I got a cupcake ring from her. (: Yummy.) After I had paid for my ring, the artist's boyfriend said to me "I saw that you're all alone at your table today. You couldn't get your assistants to help you again?" and I was like "whuuut?" And he said "You've got that table down there, don't you?" and gestured to another part of the alley. I was like "Um... no... I'm not an artist. I'm just a con-goer." and he was like "OH. Sorry!"

I was wearing my wa-lolita outfit that day, and later someone asked me "Are you the one selling those obi in the dealers room?" No, I'm not a dealer either. crying

Lately I think I've been buying more from the Artist's Alley. Well, maybe not more but I've been spending more of my money there. XD
I looooooove the stickers!!!

But yes, the Jrock booth in the dealers room. O wO
Love it. I love that booth. It fuels my Jrock (specifically Tora) addiction.
Also, at A-kon, the snack booooth!! I can buy mochiiiiii!!! <333
Annnnnnd any of the lolita booths. $80 skirt? Yes. I need a top for it still which I can hopefully get at A-kon this summer.

@Kinxed: Omg what is it with stickers?! I have more than I have places to stick them, but I get more regardless XD

And JRock booth with our bestest buddy!! <3
Omg we should totally get a job with him and travel to cons *x*

I'm so sad that snack booths are becoming less and less at conventions D': I hate the rule a lot of them are instating that you can't sell food-- Where can I get ma' snacking fix, yo?!

Omg I need to stay away from lolita booths or else I'm gonna buy something soopa expensive but never wear it-- My body wasn't made for lolita ; 3;

If I has enough monies, I'm probably gonna come out this summer and go to A-Kon with you again... That is, if you want me to WHICH YOU KNOW YOU DO P:

At my first con, I brought $100 along with me to the Dealer's Room. My friends know I have the greatest difficulty in making choices, so I kept walking back and forth between dealers, trying to decide what to buy. Same with the Artist Alley. In the end, I bought a Riku plushie, 5 pins from the Artist Alley, paid for half my friends keyblade, bought a picture, and bought cat ears. Next year I'm bringing more so I can buy all the cool stuff. ⊙▽⊙

I've had a table at the artist faire/artist alley the past two years at Ai-kon.
I ended up spending most of the money I made up in the dealers room. XD

Last year, Caitlin Glass stopped by the artists faire and she bought a bunch of stuff, including two cupcake charms from me.
I totally didn't know who she was at first..but then I noticed her name tag and started blabbering like a moron and asked for a picture with her. XD;

I also made a few tiny, askew top hats, just to see if they'd sell. People went NUTS over them and I nearly sold out on the first day.

I don't really buy much, 'cause the dealers room is too crowded and I'm not good at walking in crowded spaces. xD (I trip over EVERYTHING.)
I like the artist Alley, though. I found ramen package wallets. And stickers. Oh the stickers. I managed to only get one, though. o.0 (no idea how that happened...)

I LOVE the Dealer's Room, but I rarely find anything that I like. I just love looking at the different stuff. 90% of what I buy there is Pocky. And then I get refills. xD I do have a tradition of getting at least one Mokona at every convention I go to. I have a collection building right now, so I hope there are more items I can collect before I have them all.

As for the Artist's Alley, I just got into that this past AnimeNEXT. I bought two nice Cowboy Bebop prints with the intention of laminating them like posters and hanging them up in my college dorm. Unfortunately, when I took them to Staples to get laminated, they MELTED my favorite one. D: But the artist was very nice and sent Staples a copy of the print and it came out even better than before. I then framed my art and hang them in my dorm, which looks much nicer. Stupid Staples....at least they paid for it.

I will be at the Artist's Alley as a vendor (hopefully) for this upcoming Anime Boston. I can't wait, I'll be selling hats and such.

I spend $600+ at the dealer's room. I buy anything and everything Evangelion and I collect anime pvc figures.
