In honour of Hallowe'en, share what your favourite horror novels, poems, and short stories are. You can even mention your favourite scary films since lots of us are planning on watching some this month!

Horror is my cup of Tea!! xd I LOVE horror movies!! I could go on forever about them but I won't. First of all I recommend The Haunting in Connecticut . I'm sure most people watched the preview for the free cash. The Nightmare Before Christmas is one that I always watch for Hallowe'en even though it's not scary! I have a book called 101 Scary Movies to see before you die and there are many good movies in there. Some of them are - Candyman, Carrie, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Silence of the Lambs, Halloween, Saw, and many more. The Resident Evil movies are good too. The Eye, The Messengers, and Friday the 13th are a few that I'll be watching. I will warn those of you with weak stomachs that Saw is gruesome and should be watched with caution. (If you're 17 or older I recommend going to see Saw VI in theatres!!) But if you're interested in my opinion on more scary movies feel free to pm me anytime!!

whee I'm not allowed to watch anything my mom thinks might be scary. Because, once when her friends convinced her to see a scary movie, she bit off her whole nail. As in, off the finger completely. So, bummer for me.

But I want to see The Stepfather. (my mom's friend are going to try to bring me along!!)

Don't really read horror books per-say... more fantasy fiction, with lots of war, and EVIL men.

My little brother and I read the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark Collection every year, when he was younger I read him Goosebumps (lol). I love Ray Bradbury's stuff, The Halloween Tree (animated movie as well) and Something Wicked This Way Comes (a live-action disney film as well). I really loved Pet Cemetary by Stephen King and there's Edgar Allen Poe and HP Lovecraft of course xd .

For Movies, my favorites are the Halloween episode of season 3 of Quantum Leap (where Sam Beckett runs to horrors straight from Stephen King novels), 13 Ghosts (they actually put alot of thought into the different histories of the different Ghosts), Supernatural TV Series in general (monsters, ghosts, you name it), Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Tales from the Darkside and Tales from the Crypt. I have alot of Halloween favs sweatdrop

My favorite scary book was made into a great scary movie! I highly recommend reading Ted Dekker books. He and another author, Frank Peretti, wrote a book called House that was turned into a film in 2008. The film was done independent of a major studio but turned out amazing. The book is better, of course, but it's huge.
House is about a couple that is pretty much headed for divorce but on their way to therapy they end up stranded at a bed & breakfast called the Wayside Inn. There they meet another couple who has been stranded under the same circumstances. Then they end up trapped inside with a psycho killer called Tin Man trying to get in. The staff, a creepy bunch of hillbillies, says that they're all as guilty as sin then tries to lock them up. They escape into the basement only to realize that the house is possessed and the owners are demons. When Tin Man gets in all hell breaks loose. XD

I don't normally read or watch horror; I like medieval adventures most of the time.

I do like E. A. Poe's creepy short stories, and Stir of Echoes is a good scary movie.
