Assalamu alaykum everyone!

In case some people have never had coloring books (if thats even possible, haha) They are books of black and white pictures with no color, and children color them in with pencils or crayons: http://alwiseman.com/uploaded_images/Denni...ok2b-739355.gif

I want to send coloring pencils and a coloring book as a gift to a Muslima friend in Pakistan for her daughters birthday smile
She said she does do a small celebration for her daughter for her birth.

Are coloring books depicting animals and people halal?
If not, what other sorts of pictures are okay for small children to colour?
Can someone direct me where to print out Islam oriented pictures to color or even to buy coloring books about Islam?

Well...I wish i could give you advice, but here is what i can say...

I don't find anything wrong with it, give them a flower coloring book or like some scenery

I am no authority on this, but I would say that as long as the images are appropriate, it's Halal.

This is what i am wondering...We are not supposed to depict creations of Allah (swt). So are animals & people not allowed?

Is there breathing room since its for kids? ><

Well, I've seen Islamic coloring books before, which depict Muslim children and things in nature, usually teaching about Allah, or the Muslim lifestyle.

My call if it were my child would be that animal coloring books and other innocent images would be fine. Inappropriate would be, for example, the Little Mermaid coloring book. However, if you want to be 100% positive, I'm sure you can find Islamic coloring books online for relatively cheap, if you google it.
