Haha, i was watching this clip of John McCain, for those of you who dont know who he is, he is the guy who was running against President Obama in the elections. Alhumdililah, Obama did win.

Not meaning to get political, but man..this guy doesnt even know where his troops are and he wanted to keep them there for a decade if necessary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NC0Y7zMcn_4

Also, a cute little quiz on the Middle East i took some time ago, let us know how you do! http://www.rethinkingschools.org/just_fun/games/mapgame.html

Did you take the quiz?
Did you do better or worse than expected?

Awww... Give the guy a break. He's a little old, and probably wanted to say Afghani, not Iraqi. Then again, when you're about to lead a country that has 2 wars (and I emphasize "wars", not "fronts" ), it might get harder to follow... That's one of many reasons why I thought he was not presidential material.

I've taken the quiz, and my only mistake was that I switched between Kirghistan and Uzbekistan. I take maps very, very seriously.

Aye smile
Qatar is indeed a very small country, but only geographically. It has a great deal of economic leverage in spite of its small size.

In that map, I've been to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey. I was born in Sudan, and visited it frequently in the past, and I lived in Saudi Arabia for a very long time.

Although i hope to go to Pakistan in the next 3 years.

My sister's friend has been to Egypt. They went to a sparsely populated area to avoid the touristy part, and did not have a fun time :/

That's strange. Egypt is the most populated Arab country, and possibly 2nd or 3rd populated African country. It's also one of the most populated Islamic countries. Where in Egypt did they go? The Western Desert? lol! They should have gone to the tourist areas. Egypt is extremely rich culturally. It has some of the most amazing examples of Islamic architecture, not to mention the ancient artifacts.

Personally, I would like to visit Egypt the day I get the opportunity. Funny thing is, I have a hard time traveling a couple of hundred miles to NY, let alone across the globe to Egypt. I also have a priority to travel to Sudan to visit family. Connecting with family is an Islamic obligation after all smile , but I digress.

More digressing? Did you know that there are more people in NYC than there are in the entire West African nation of Mauritania (~3 Mill)? In fact, NY City has more than twice the population (~8 Mill).
