GPG's Camp Chaos Avatar Contest! Hello everyone, Mame here with a super special contest (well sort of super special, it's rather mundane actually).
Start: NOW
Ends: August 19th *Extended*
Anyways in honour of the new Camp Chaos event I figured I'd give the members of this guild an opportunity to win some stuff.
We will have 4 categories, one for each camp, and you will be allowed to make a tektek avatar for each. You don't have to make all four if you don't want to but there isn't an entry fee so the more you make the better you chances of winning at least one prize. So it's encouraged to make all four-but not enforced. Make as many or as few as you'd like.
The prizes for this contest will be provided by me and are listed as follows:
1st Prize: 1 Thank You Letter August 2009 (current approx value 70k :O)
2nd Prize: 10k
3rd Prize: 5k
And remember this is per category and you may win multiple categories so you could win up to 4 August 09s!!
You will be scored on a number of different things:
-How well the avi fits the theme.
-Unique use of items (Ex: using Nano-C is easy to make a science based avatar, but what else can be used?)
-Originality
-Style (Ex: Is the avatar too cluttered? Is it too bare? Is it just a mishmash of colours with nothing tying it together?)
The one with the most points wins! In the event of a tie the winner will be determined by a poll in the guild. If there is a tie in the guild poll another will be created outside of the guild as the final tie breaker.

Update: Yay! I only have an entry for science camp, maybe more later but probably not. Let's go people, there have to be better avatar makers than me in the guild! xp  Ooh, I want to play.
Do we have to enter avatars for all four camps, or can we just do one or two?
Should I post my tektek here, or pm you, or something? When can we start?

Oh all good questions!
You can enter as many or as few as you would like the prizes are per category (So the winner of Juvie gets an August Letter, the winner of Science gets an August letter and so forth). So if you only want to enter one, only enter one, if you want to enter all four enter all four or any number in between.
Post your tektek here, just because it's easier that way and it'll eventually be posted on the second post anyways. And the contest is open starting now! smile

@Rest of Guildies: Come on guys, enter! This is a free contest so why not eh? :O Right now the odds of winning are pretty damn sweet and you could win lots of stuff!! If you don't like the new MCs then I'm sure they'd make a nice gift to a friend, or you could sell them for a pretty penny!

Okay, fine... since you asked, here you go: something along the lines of "rich kids are glamorous monsters"  If I win anything, it'll be donated to someone who needs or deserves. Have you considered posting this contest in the chatterbox? They're crazy about tekteks and free stuff there 3nodding ... just maybe not so much in the know about polyamory lol ("polygamy?! on gaia??? gonk " rolleyes )

Yeah I wanted it to be a guild contest open to the guildies here because I wanted to try to stirr up some action (seemed not to work so well XD). Pluuus I felt like doing something special for the guild. If I wanted to do generic avi contest I would have gone over to Avatar Talk or the CB. When I first started Gaia I used to run a rather large avatar contest over in the CB X3 But oh well. Hopefully we'll get a bunch of last minute entries on the 19th.

Alright so the contest is officially closed!
On the down side we didn't have many entries this time around. On the plus side everyone who entered is a winner!
To show my appreciation for those who did participate you will each recieve:
1 August 09 Letter AND 15k
Which is the equvilent of 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.
