I`m living in Japan now as a foreign exchange student and my school is... let`s just say clueless as to how to teach me Japanese. I know hiragana and am learning katakana with my fellow exchange student.
Does anyone know any basic Kanji that I`ll see in everyday life and need to use so I can memorize it?
^.^ Hey I'm living in Japan too right now. I'm homestaying in Osaka. Hmmm everyday kanji, everday kanji....
Well the kanji for iriguchi and deguchi are important to know, they tell you were exits and entrances are sometimes. Otearai is also good because this will tell you were the bathroom is. Tomare! means stop, you will see that on street signs. Jidousha is the kanji for car, which tells you were cars aren't allowed. Memorizing the kanji for cities and places you will be visiting often is always a good idea, because usually the trains have english under the kanji, but sometimes on buses and stuff there is only the kanji.
I'll post again later when I think of more.
