I haven't posted in the guild in a while and I thought I'd finally post again by asking something that has been bugging me for a while.
What is YOUR definition of goth, gothic, and the like? Or what does it mean to you?
For me Goth is more of a state of mind than anything else. It isn't being into creepy clothing or being depressed like the media portrays. It is more of being interested in the unusual and the morbid. It doesn't matter how you dress or act. Yes, you can dress like the stereotypical goth and like vampires but that doesn't make you one... at all. Like I said, I think it is more of the sate of mind. Liking the things that most people would shirk away from like graves, horror, and the like, being different without being strange.
