Is there a book/film/television program that you loved as a child, but when you see it now you think to yourself, "That's horrible; I can't believe I used to like that! No wonder it drove my parents insane!" question

Barney. Gahh need I say more? And I watched Disney movies all the time. Now Disney isn't horrible, but I memorized all the funny and sad parts, so I'd call my mom in every few minutes hehe. smile

Hmm.. what else...? Ohh I know music wise I listened to Britney Spears 24/7. razz Blehh Oh and Backstreet Boys. Those aren't terrible, but they aren't my favorite haha.

I had pretty good taste in books. Can't think of anything too dreadful that I used to read. Hehe.

When I was a younger elf, I used to like the shows with the round-ears in them. Now, I know elfin programs are much better! razz

Smurfs. Also Snorks. And it shames me to admit that at one point in time I enjoyed watching Peewee's Playhouse. My dad, normally very calm, could not refrain from muttering profanity as he left the room anytime it came on.

In about 4th or 5th grade, I was silly enough to be fooled into thinking those teenage romance novels were a good idea. It took me, I think, three books before I realized that they all had the same plot, just set in a different time period with the occasional change of custom and costume. Girl meets nice boy. They get along well. Girl meets dangerous and vaguely evil boy, who is exciting. Girl moons around a lot being rather mean to the nice boy, then the vaguely evil boy does something unforgiveable and she realizes who she really loves. Girl and nice boy are happy. Finis. Even at the age I was, that got lame really fast. I never even bothered with the grown-up versions, which as far as I've heard are the same things, but with sex scenes. rolleyes

Like most young girls I remember watching Sailor Moon every afternoon when it came on. I recall it being one of the greatest cartoons that I had ever seen.

stare A few weeks ago I started to watch it again telling myself that I should try to reconnect with my inner child.

gonk What was I thinking?

It was terrible. The voices annoyed me (especially Serena's friend, who's name I cannot remember. M-something...) and every episode was pretty much the same. It was too predictable. crying

I use to love these simple teen fiction books I got from the kids section but now can't stand to read anything but fantasy.

Suze, I still like the old songs by those musicians. I see no shame in it. xd

Elf, watch out; my human form is a round-ear! rofl

Nanny, I hate romance novels for that reason. The plots never change. When I want a good story, I read fantasy or historical fiction. razz When I want a sex scene, I go to adult fan fiction websites and get right to it with characters I already like instead of trudging through the mundane excuses for plots with shallow characters in order to get to the smut in romance novels. It's good that you realised after only a few books how boring romances are so that you didn't waste anymore of your time.

Angel, I think the reason that kids like Barney is because there's so much singing involved and several live children. I liked it too...back in the day. lol

Ark, I never got interested in that show, but lots of girls I know liked it when they were younger. I thought Tuxedo Mask was cool because of his entrance music, but that was it. Although, I do admit to still listening to theme song!

Fleur, I hope that didn't include Gossip Girl! burning_eyes Well, even if it did, you outgrew it. smile

I used to watch Teletubbies and Mum HATED it. I can understand why; it was a terrible program because it taught nothing. I think Sesame Street probably teaches more than any other preschool show. Yay Sesame Street! whee

Barny once again..... *shudder* I used to have like 4 stuffed Barny dolls and Barny clothes and, ugh!

Really I think that is it. I can't think of anything else that I have outgrown, I am still very much like my child-self even though I am 18 XD.
