I apologize if there is already a thread about this somewhere...
But I was wondering your thoughts on this? Do you think it possible, or do you think we may find it soon?
Just curious! ^^;

I think it that it is impossible and that it is irrational to believe that cold fusion will ever be achieved.
That said, I also think that it is rational to hope for it (and thus I would be glad to be proven wrong), because it was would be very significant, and it's not deductively forbidden by the known laws of physics.
At least as far as I'm aware, although I haven't looked closely into it. The enormous Coulomb barrier, for example, is pretty convincing in making it very unlikely to be possible at low energies, but not absolutely so, for the simple reason that it's very unclear how the strong force behaves there--unlike electromagnetism, strong force coupling tends to grows stronger at lower energies and weaker at higher energies. Perhaps someone has done an appropriately detailed analysis to demonstrate either way, but if so, I don't know of it.
