I did a HUGE report on gray wolves and how they are becoming extinct. It was actually my science report project. And the sad thing is, nobody payed attention to my exhibit, but to the exhibit across from me, that was based on the parts of motocross bikes. People underestimate wolves. They wont attack you often, and they dont want to. they only do it, because they cant find any other food. And they are getting killed, because farmers are "defending their livestock". Yes, they are defending their livestock, but there is another way to defend your livestock from wolves. i mean, seriously, this  is doing that, only because they are defending this

well there are other ways to deter wolves from livestock, but those peaceful ways dont always work. as long as the ranchers try the peaceful ways first and they dont work then i think they have the right to defend their livelyhood.
if it needs to be done then it needs to be done, but only if you have tried everything else first.

that is a very wise comment,
and very true.
but if my analysis is correct,
more then 50% of farmers
react before thinking,
and dont try doing it peacefully.

i agree peacefullness and understanding before killing or drastic measures are very needed in this situtation. yes the wolves are there, but techinacially we are taking from them. their homes and their hunting lands. instead of killing the poor wolfes. try to possible relocate them to a safe place, a wolf haven of sorts.

Idiocracy. Not your report, but to the people who fawned the dumbass who actually did a report on bikes, as well as the person stupid enough to write a report on BIKES. My god, are we all getting dumber, or are the people with common sense just smarter. I think it's both. Im sorry your report didnt get the attention it was supposed to. Heck, I'd practically do the work for you if you wanted. If it's lupine related AND gives the sense these hypocrits need, yes I'll do it!!!! ...Um, do you mind I ask where to sign up? ninja

you know I'm totaly agree In france too some animals Are dissapearing you know And I'm sad for it so If I have the chance to change I will done it ^^

That's horrible. These animals are so beautiful, yet we kill them. That second picture is adorable! I can't imagine anyone who could kill that little baby! : (

Wait... but if the animals are really going extinct, then wouldn't it be illegal to kill them? eek What are those farmers thinking?

They are beautiful creatures, i think. And for people to dislike them just bescause they kill livestock and are dangerous "monsters" is just wrong. It is the humans that are monsters. it is US who make it so that the only food source avaliable to them is our live stock, and it is US who kill them for their pelts or whatever other meaningless reason. We can all do things to end this though, For one, be a vegetarian or vegan. By doing this, we will not need the livestock as muck. Also, raise more awareness than just a project. I am not dissing the author of this forum, i did a project on them too. I am only saying that by working together, we can bump up their numbers, just like we did with the bald eagles.

I have never heard of an attack on a human by a wolf. Not saying one never happened, but I just have never heard of one - I constantly read about animals, it's obviously an incredibly rare or nonexistant event.
There was a person keeping a wolf as a pet somewhere in my area - they tied it up to a tree, at a bus stop for my bus to school. The wolf wasn't even paying attention to the two girls frozen with fear nearby, it was just looking at the bus, scared. They aren't vicious creatures - so many years of hunting made them scared of humans. There is no reason to kill them - if they're bothering livestock or pets, call animal control so it can be relocated. Don't lie and say it tried to attack you for an excuse to kill an innocent creature. If you want a fur coat - buy fake fur, it's just as nice minus the killling of an animal. How would you feel if you were being hunted for fur? O_e
I read a story in the book "Chicken soup for a pet lover's soul". There was a story of a little girl who found a wolf and kept it as a pet. When she was, I believe, my age, she found the wolf shot on a neighboring farm. It was hunting livestock - they could've relocated the wolf.
The wolf ended up having pups nearby.
