Adding "yo" to the end of a sentence? Help!

Okay, so I've noticed that "yo" will be thrown in at the end of some sentences... Can anyone explain to me what this does, or what this means?

And if possible, can you give me a few examples of when to use it?

I think I finally get what "ne" does at the end of a sentence...

"Yo" is usually used for emphasis.

Ame ga futeimasu yo.

"It's raining!"

Something like that.

That is how I use it and sometimes see it. Finding a particle guide would probably help (both you and me!)

it means that you emphasize the sentence..for example..

ii tenki desu.
the weather is nice.

ii tenki desu yo.
the weather is really nice.

it's just like that.. smile
