My dad keeps on asking me what I want to do when I grow up, and I always say "I don't know." Recently I've been thinking about maybe moving to Japan when I get older. It's a possibility, and I might even go with it.... maybe.
I read somewhere that people living in Japan who are not native don't have all the rights as a "real" Japanese would. Does anyone know more on this subject?

Well, if you really have your heart set on moving there when you're older, you might want to start saving money now.
I really wanted to move there to until after I did a bunch of research and now I'm just going to stay living in the US and visiting Japan probably over the summer or on vacation times.
To just move out there without being a citizen first, it costs a ton of money. Things are more expensive out there. Even to buy just like 1 pen costs about $1. To become a citizen, I beleive you have to live out there for I beleive 1 year. I'm guessing that you have to live in an apartment for that year. And you should make sure you know the language pretty fluently and do up some research about the areas.
Japan is very crowded. This is because of all the mountainous area as you could probably point out on a map.
You could probably get some information on there from www.japan-guide.com
Also on that site, if you sign up, you can make an ad in there for a penpal or e-penpal from Japan to help you out a bit. I have about 3 Japanese friends that I got from that site.
Good luck!

It is those booths you enter and take snapshots of you/friends and print them into stickers or small photos. And it depends who you are or where you are in Japan to be called a gaijin or gaikokujin.

I don't know about the rights thing, but a friend of mine who stay in Japan for a couple of weeks told me that caucasians get totally fawned over and can get lodging real easily. He knew one Japanese friend and he just stayed with a bunch of his relatives all over Japan the whole time.

I'm pretty sure they mean foreigner except gaijin is more slangy and rude...
jin is person. For instance nihonjin means japanese person.
