Yeah, that too. I'd hope that the customer would appreciate the time spent as well.

I charge $20 per chibi. At first I thought it was a lot, but it's reasonable because people are interested. 3nodding A lot of people turn around and tell me I'm silly to apologise for the price. XD
And $5 an hour seems reasonable well it works in terms of what I'm charging. It takes me like 4hrs to complete 1 chibi. *_*;

rice saysi'll tell you this straight up dou (you know i love ya).
pencil sketches doesn't do well in the commission world unless you have amazing style..... the only person i know that did sketch art for 10 bucks each was katsh and her art was above awesome and lots of perspectives on her art.... your art seems kind of dull and only have one perspective and its just straight forward look. you need to show you have more refined style also.
as for your watercolor...... i would learn how to use pure watercolor... and not pencil because it gives it a messy look like crayola color pencils.... and again the postures and everything come into play here as well....
rl commissions are hard and not like gaia where its just pixel... when you asking for real money you need to be on a more professional level with your work. but if you're dead set on selling...... i would do the the watercolor only for 5 dollars at first and then see how it goes from there.... again i tell this to everybody..... polish up your skills first till its really marketable and then do rl commissions where they'll be pouring in in the future.
sorry dou..... if i sound like a jerk and stuff.... you know i always notice your changes and improvements.... but i think you can improve a lot more and not really ready for the rl commission world.
no matter what i wish you luck on your venture!!

start small, and when you think you've improved enough to raise your prices, then why not? XD...
I started selling at around $15 per fullbody 8 months ago, and that kinda art took me like 6-8hrs to draw. Now I charge $30 and spend the same amount of time drawing it~ and yah, I get customers (but not too often xp )
I am even planning to sell my newer semirealistic stuff starting at $80 for fullbodies (considering that it takes almost thrice as long as my regular RL commish styles~) so yah, wish me luck with that. XD

Oh, Rice. There is no reason to apologize. I love your honesty, and you've always told me as it is.
I'm doing this because I will get kicked out if I can't find a job, or make money to help pay the rent. And I have a three year-old that I need to take care of, so it would be bad if I had nowhere to stay... >.< Jobs are few and high competition, and I can't work during the day, because there is no chance at getting a babysitter or daycare (the wait list is ridiculous, not to mention expensive).
