Brolly? I've always spelled it "brollie" (and I probably spell it wrong), but I know it's the British slang for "umbrella." My dad lived in England for two years before I was born and he still calls them brollies.

Really? Is it a newer slang word? Because I've never heard it. Maybe it's old and my family has just never used it? My family hasn't been in the U.K. since I was baby. We keep our heritage alive, though, by using the king's English. (That explains my spelling and expressions.) Sometimes with English recipes also, but I'm not much of a cook. sweatdrop Mum is, though! smile
