So I doubt that I'll get many responses in time for my hair appointment at 3:30 today, but~

Maybies by my next hair appointment, you all would be kind enough as to help me decide what to do with my hair color.

Right now my hair is black/brown with a little purple cast that makes it shine a little bit in the light. However, I want something new. I've had it full black before, but mostly when my hair was long. My hairstylist cut it all off, and I really wish I hadn't let that happen. x.x I miss my long hair. It's grown back to about shoulder length, and I plan on growing it back out.

My problem is, I want a stunning color, but I want it to match my lolita dresses. I've considered dark purple, but I'm not sure if that would clash.

I have both sweet and gothic lolita dresses, but I'm moving more towards gothic lately. I'm wondering if I should go back to pure black?

One idea I had was dying the whole thing black with three white streaks that I can curl or braid. My little black tophat pin needs braids or something to keep it up, because my hair is so fine.

My hair cannot go to too light of shades though, because I have so much dye in it already.

Help please?

Thank you, lolita society. <3

Well, it sounds like you have the similar situation I have. I have been dying it for years(and I cut it short and regret that XD) and just stopped 4 months ago and it getting to be somehwat natural, but I suggest that you stop dying it and let it go natural with no highlights or anything. Then if you want to go platinum blonde or somehwere light then your hair is fresher and can take more bleach.
But if you want it dark make it a rich chocolate brown.

Depends on the dye and how well you take care of your hair after doing it, to be honest. Either way, you'll have to do touch-ups if not full re-dos every few weeks to cover the roots as they grow.

Depends on washing and what shampoo you use and temp of the water. If you want to keep it, use garnier fructis and warm water. If you want it lighter, wash with Dawn or Palmolive dishsoap (don't get it in your eyes!) and hot hot water. I can get it super light in two washes, but also, I flat iron, I have no idea how that affects it. Heat makes manic panic stay longer, but also makes color fade faster, so maybe it cancels out? I think so, I don't see much difference from it.

So if it's too dark, 1-2 washes with heavy soap. If you like it, wash lightly with garnier fructis or some color preserving shampoo. Should stay for a couple months without fading.
