My cat, Valentina, doesn't meow very often.. but for a while now at night she'll meow kinda loud. One of my friends said that she might be crying for her mother (I adopted her from the humane society and have had her since Feburary) but I'm curious what might cause her to do it.

Are there rooms that are inaccesible to her at night? One of my cats will meow his head off if the door to the basement is shut.

I had just fallen asleep around 12:30am ish (I was up reading) and I hear this freaky noise.
Now I had read these horror stories earlier in the day, so I was really freaked out.
It was like "Noooooooo!" only high-pitched a bit.
Turns out it was just my cat meowing.

She still meows like that, but everywhere except the bathrooms and me and my brother's closet are blocked off (which is normal).

It still freaks me out on why she's doing that.

My cat Willow stands outside of my next door neighbors house at night and meows. I would stop her but I really hate my neighbors.Maybe you should put the meowing cat outside so that it can bother the neighborhood. biggrin

my cats do it to , my cats want attention but 1 just wants to play fetch(dont ask) xD

Yeah. One of my cats will meow and scratch my bedroom door if I close if and he's not inside, especially if my other kitteh is in there.

my cat, Furby use to never meow at night ether but for a while he woulod just go to my moms door at like 3 am ad meow and scratch at the door until my mom opened it but then he would look at her like she was an idiot so now if my mom closes her door he starts again but if she keeps it open he stops so try and see what she/he wants then let him/her have it
