Im going to play bass clarinet in marching band.i dont think it will be hard.I just signed up for it.

it's not too bad. I went from 3 years of marching Bb to bass. You just get a saxophone neck strap. It's definitely heavier but it's really not as bad as I thought it would be. My thumb hurt for a bit when I first started but nothing terrible.

For some reason our old BD wouldn't let us march bass clarinet, even though we REALLY could have used the lower voices and had a shitload of Bb clarinet players, but I've seen several other bands at competition march with them. Doesn't seem to be much more difficult than with a Bb.

Omg, I did it once when we played a Halloween Show. And none of the other clarinet players would do it. Easier if you are good with your upper body. But it is large and awkward. Not my fave instrument to march, that's for sure.
