Lean service models work in theory. Then somebody quits.
Putting in your two weeks notice is a good idea, but if you do, please do not change your mind (about working the last two weeks, not about leaving) and leave your place of employment short staffed having only a day to have known you were leaving.
I don't particularly like working six or more days a week--- especially since my next class is starting up again soon.
And you know what, this is the third auditor we've lost in under two months-- two of whom never even bothered getting to audit training with me. This one finally finishes her training and quits. Surprise surprise that people keep quitting from a job that pays so very little of what it is worth.
For that matter there are so many out there who are aching, aching for employment at this time-- and yet we cannot keep a weekend auditor.
GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
(translation of Rant: Antonia will be working overtime again soon, very soon).

Ooh, sorry. We recently had a staff member take another job elsewhere in our library system, leaving us a bit short staffed for the time being. We can generally manage like that, but this past Monday not one, but two staff members called in sick. I spent a good portion of the morning making phone calls, trying to find a sub. The person who works Monday mornings with me ended up staying late, and I worked a split shift, and we were still technically one person short in the evening. I had to go in early today, too. On the other hand, It's nice to get extra hours.

Being short handed really stinks. In the small hotel business most of our shifts are only staffed by one person neutral Looks like I have this weekend off to rest and then tackle overtime next week.
