Jade was a common lass of refined tastes she was born under a rich elegant family but her family's fortune was secretly a stolen noblemen s belongings they stole when the authorities found her and her parents she narrowly escaped. She was locked up in the an English jailhouse where she was sentenced to be hanged. the first week her father, then her mother, and finally it was her turn. That morning she was crying in the cell when she was interrupted by another inmate who had arrived few days earlier: Austin. "Will you stop that?!" he whispered "you'll wake the guards!"
"I'm sorry" Jade said tearfully "I'm just going to die...I know it..."
Austin turned his head and put his face to his bars "lassie no..no.. I'm promising ya because I'm a coward in the face of death, I can get us out of here both of us you are not dying today...
Jade sniffed replied "Really sir you could do that.."
"I sure can miss. Whats your name?"
"Jade Madison Coraner sir."
"Beautiful name Jade I'm Austin..."
"Pleased to meet you Austin." said Jade a smile slipped out from her lips as she blushed. Austin then reached into his pants and pulled out pieces of a revolver then pieced them together. As Austin loaded it with a screw from the cell door he looked at Jade and said "Hold still"
Jade Ducked her head as the sound of a metal shattering the metal lock from the door creaked Austin walked out of the cell.
"I will be right back I promise. If they come before I get back Fight them off as hard as you can until I get back or run. Savvy?"
Jade nodded her head.
"Good" Austin ran up the stairs, there was a loud noise of rustling pounding and gunfire but then silence. Jade's eyes widened she grabbed the cells bars nervously and waited, in a few seconds she heard footsteps running down the stairs. Austin came down into the dungeon with a cutlass revolver bullet belt and a rifle.
"Back away from the door Jade"
She did so. Austin aimed his pistol at the lock fired opened the door and handed her the rifle then asked "Ever fired a gun?"
Jade answered "once my daddy showed me how to fire a flintlock..." her grip on the gun tightened.
"Then follow me."Austin grabbed her hand and and ran back up the steps. Jade following behind closely.
As the to prisoners made it to the top of the steps there was a courtyard full of cannons and crates. Sailors where carrying cargo to a near by vessel Called HMS Grand. Austin spoke to Jade quietly "Alright Jade here is what we are going to do you see those crates there?"
You mean the ones there taking to that ship there?" Asked Jade
Exactly we are going to get in the next supply caravan and after that once we are aboard that ship we are going to commandeer the ship its self and sail far away from this place"
Jade looked at Austin in shock "What! Are you mad?"
Austin responded" Yes I am"
Jade paused then smiled "Alright then lets do it!"
Austin smiled "That's more like it lets go!"
The two stowaways were carried on to the ship as planned.
Jade poked her head out of the crate after everything seemed still and quite then jumped out and pulled the top off Austin's "Is it clear?" he asked
"All clear!" Jade said.
"Aye Lets move" Austin scampered up the deck then sneaked up with jades help pushing each crew member off the ship one at a time after they were the only ones left on board Austin and Jade packed up the bridge hoisted anchor and sailed away from the port as fast as they could. They were in open ocean in less than three hours.
Two days later Jade had come down with a high fever and Austin was keeping her company they were to far from land to buy medicine or see a doctor, and Austin did not know what to do, he feed her what they had in the cargo and the galley but Jade's condition was becoming worse by the day. Finally Austin and Jade knew she would not last the night. They spent there last moment confessing there love for each other kissed and shot rum bottles. Jade fired at the final glass then put her hand on Austin's " Austin thank you for saving me. I will never forget what you have done for me."
Austin beginning to cry answered" Jade I..I.."
but as he said this she went limp and died.Austin cried for a long time and did not leave her bed side.
A few weeks had past since Jades death but Austin was still in sorrow.He had her body encased in the crate she had stowed away in when they took the ship with the rifle he gave her. He buried it on an island and never returned to it.
