I play the Timps and truthfully ours suck. We have two that you can't tune to save your life. We use basic suspended cymbal, soft mallets because we are a poor school. No chair I have to stand to do everything. What I think really sux about our timps at my school is that I learned to play the bells first and I had to learn a whole other kind of music and our timps you can't hit them in the middle at all, they make no sound what so ever. We're playing a song right now called Red Rock Canyon and that's freakin hard to do esp. cause there are a lot of rolls that go onto the other timp and my hands get criss crossed so Ihit the middle of the other one and my director gets peeved because he didn't hear the other note.

I can only get a sound out of them any other way, but yeah I probably am playing them wrong. I was the first person at our school to every play them and I tried to teach one of the other bell players because I might not be in band next year and she can not get it at all, so our director is going to out sol unless he can find someone to learn fast.
