What's your favourite book with dragons in it?

Mine is definitely Eragon by Paolini. heart I also love The Hobbit by Tolkien and Death Gate Cycle by Weis and Hickman, but in Eragon the dragons have a more significant role than in those other two books/series.

Woot! Mine is the Eragon series as well! *didn't notice this thread until now* razz

The dragons in Eragon are amazing. But, I also like The Fire Within series. Chris D'Lacey did an amazing job with those books. 3nodding

I haven't read Eragon quite yet, but I plan on it soon. I used to love Dragon Tales when I was younger. Now I just watch it with my younger cousins xd .

I completely agree. Both Eragon and The Fire Within were excellent. However, if anyone reads books about computer games, The Day of the Dragon and the War of the Anchients trilogy are very good as well

My favorite book with dragons in has always been (and probably always will be) The Hobbit. Smaug ftw.

This does not in any way mean I dislike Eragon. But he'd probably be the first to admit that Tolkien is unbeatable. Also slightly edging out Paolini's work is Guards! Guards!by Terry Pratchett. Tolkien wins by a nose there, but Errol and his explosive digestive system are firmly wedged in my heart, as well as the draco nobilis. It certainly helps that I'm a huge fan of the Night Watch books, of which Guards! Guards! is the first. And I KNOW Terry Pratchett knows Tolkien is unbeatable. He's got his own t-shirt made that says so, I saw him wearing it.
