Olivia looked at Nava, her eyes full of concern. What she must have gone through, having her home destroyed, people she cared for lost.. Olivia had lost her mother, but she could could only scarcely imagine what Nava was going through. She had lost more then Olivia ever had. This only made her decision to become Nava's guardian even more certain. She would help this girl in anyway she could.

"You aren't terrible," Olivia told her with a soft smile. "You just need to find yourself a guardian or two. You are very brave and strong. As for boat fare, we'll see what we can do after the game." Olivia hoped the summoner didn't mind Olivia wanting to stick by and help her. Even if Nava refused her to be her guardian, she still wanted to help the summoner.

"Now let's eat," Olivia said, walking through the door held upon by Philip. She spared him a nod in thanks before entering the restaurant.

Contrary to popular belief, Philip was actually in possession of a heart.

On occasion, he was even affected by emotions and feelings.

And his eyes were no stranger to crystalline tears.

Although not a single tear slid down his pale cheek, the male did feel a spark of sympathy for the summoner before him, though his apathetic stare did little to display it. His icy heart melted enough for the organ to breathe, tightening in his chest and forcing him to grip onto his cactaur plushie just a bit tighter. He was not one to offer comforting words, nor was he one apt to provide solace. Nevertheless, he was a human being. And he knew of pain and suffering…

Following closely after the two females, Philip led them to a more secluded corner, probably influenced by his loner tendencies. Approaching the medium sized, round table, the onxy-haired male pulled out one chair for the summoner as well as one for the ebony-clad female. Though icy and curt he may be from time to time…a gentleman he was always.

Chivalry was not dead, so far as Philip was concerned.

Moving a step back, allowing the Nava and Olivia room to take their seats, Philip’s silver gaze followed them in a curious way, simply observing their features. Olivia’s in particular. What occupation did she follow? Her build was athletic enough to be useful in battle…her onyx framed face did not seem lacking in intelligence that would serve well as an analyst for the Crusaders. Her form fitting clothing added to the idea of her being a warrior…but then, perhaps she was simply a local of Luca. A shopkeeper, a teacher…not everything had to be about war, did it?

Turning his metal gaze from the emerald-eyed woman in time to be just short of staring, the male was sure to push in the two female’s seats once they had filled them. Appearing somewhat out of place with his dark attire within the cheerfully decorated room, Philip moved to take his own seat at the table, glancing at the proffered menus set on the tablecloth surface.

“There is no shame in surviving a disaster…” Parted cherry lips spoke in his hushed tone, just barely above a whisper. Although his silver gaze remained on the menu he now gently grasped within one slender hand, his speech was directed towards the summoner, not seeming to mind whether she listened or not. “Upon being left with only your life…that is more than enough to be grateful for.”

Lifting his stare from the elegant script of the leather bound menu, the vampire-like male set his feline gaze on the summoner, his metal pools not meant to be intimidating…yet they were penetrating all the same. Biting his tongue for a moment, the male attempted to soften his naturally hard gaze, the effort draining him of his low energy reserves. Why bother…

Full lips twitched up in a ghost of a smile, as if he was attempting to reassure the girl. “Order whatever you like. I will cover the expense, whatever the cost. I was volunteered to bring you both to lunch…and I would be offended to not be able to do just that.”

Nava smiled politely, a little confused, when the seats were pulled out and offered; it was unusual to her, in an odd sense, to have things done for her like this. She had always been well taken care of by the Kilikan priests, but this was different. Nothing was expected of her, except that she simply take the seat and go about her business.

Sitting quickly, the islander thanked him quietly and quickly, her gaze spanning the tabletop before scouring the restaurant-goers. She didn't recognize any of them... But she had to look anyway. Her sister could still be there, among a throng of people, just waiting to be found...

As Nava's focus returned to the group at hand, her eyes widened minutely as she realized Philip was speaking to her. Hearing his words, her gaze softened and flew out of focus, dropping to the tabletop once more.

He was right.

Of course, she wasn't grateful for her life. She was just ashamed of the fact that she hadn't been able to save anyone... For all the years she had spent training and working on her skills and capabilities, it had all amounted to nothing, so far. And for that, she was disappointed. Disheartened. But she still valued her life.

Looking up, she smiled, nodding to the two.
"Right. So, there's no sense in complaining...! I can only try harder!" Nava spoke enthusiastically now, sitting up straight in her seat and smiling half-heartedly.

There was no point in being upset now... What was done, was done, and she could only keep going forward and improving. She could still try to save Spira, and try she would.

Olivia stared at the offered seat before her for a second before taking it. No one had every pulled out a seat for her. She supposed she was never thought of as lady among the men. Olivia was a warrior, a Crusader, she had no time to act like a proper lady. Though she had to admit, there was a spark of warmth in her when the seat was offered.

Olivia grinned when Nava exclaimed how she was going to try harder. "That's right Nava, and I'm behind you 100%!" Yes, drop a little hint. She really wanted to help the summoner. Hopefully she would become Nava's guardian.

Hearing Philip's words Olivia nodded. There was something she was not new to. The other Crusaders did offer to let her have whatever she wanted when they would go out to eat. Though, she supposed it had something to with her father being one of the strongest of them all. Glancing up at Nava, Olivia wondered if the summoner wold agree or not.

User Image“Hello there!”

Treading down the aisle, dodging tables and chairs, approached a female appearing no older than fifteen. Donning a layered uniform of shades of brown, the young woman tugged at her somewhat too-short skirt, seeming to be slightly embarrassed in the attire. A notepad held within one minute hand while a pen was grasped in the other, the little girl’s countenance screamed that she would have preferred to be attending the blitzball tournament, though was attempting her best to remain chipper and cheerful.

“Welcome to Luca’s Finest! My name is Rei and I’ll be glad to be your waitress today.” Cherry lips spread into an affable smile, the human female displaying perfect customer service. She did her job well…even on the one day she rather not be working. Mentally heaving and shrugging off a feeling of self-pity, the Rei tucked a locket of chocolate hair behind one of her ears. Gazing at the group with warm hazel eyes, the waitress continued smiling, the expression lighting up her cherubic features. “Is there anything that I can get for you to drink first?”

Lifting silver irises from his leather-bound menu, the black mage looked at the young girl with his penetrating stare, only hesitating for a moment before answering her request. “I would just like some Oolong tea to start with, please.”

Cactaur still in hand, the Philip glanced at his two companions, allowing them time to request their drinks. Waiting for a few beats, the onyx-haired male then handed his menu book to the younger female, sitting straight up in his seat with near-perfect posture. Adjusting the plushie that remained in his lap absentmindedly, so naturally that his movements were reminiscent of a child, liquid metal eyes were focused on Olivia and Nava while soft words fell from his lips, “Are you two ready to order?”

(( OOC: A picture of Rei just to help visualize...since I didn't want to describe what she was wearing in any detail xD;; ))

Glancing at Olivia after hearing her declaration of support, she shifted her gaze down to the tablecloth with a distant expression. Her thoughts flitted from place to place as her eyes traveled the patterns within the cloth before she realized that the waitress was waiting for the girls to place their orders.

Noticing her peculiar behavior, she considered her options for a few moments before smiling. The islander rummaged through her box of gil, between her feet underneath the table, grabbing something and holding it in her lap before smiling brighter at the brunette.

"I'll have...some...soba noodles. And lots of water. Also, do we tip you guys...?" Nava asked quietly, leaning towards the girl. The oddly dressed waitress apparently had an interest in the on-going games today, and Nava did have an extra ticket... But it would be extremely weird to just give the girl the ticket. If she had a real reason to give it up, it would be much more acceptable. And probably wouldn't be mistaken for a counterfeit right off the bat.

Olivia nodded to Philip and looked at Nava, waiting. It would be proper to let the summoner order before her. After Nava gave her order Olivia thought for a moment. She really wasn't that hungry in the first place. Though, it would be rude not to get anything she supposed.

"I'll have a bowl of Miso soup as well as some Oolong Tea as well, please," she told the waitress with a smile. She handed the menu book over to the girl and looked at her companions. What would they talk about while they waited for their order?

[That was short >_<]
