Have you noticed how if you play zOMG!, you'll have a user name similar to yourname@gaiaonline.com?
Well, Shram asked the question if those names could receive emails. I decided I would test it out and check if I can email myself. Here's part of the message I received back after my attempt.
"Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
jaft@gaiaonline.com
Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 5.1.1 : Recipient address rejected: gaiaonline.com (state 14)."
I not only failed, I failed permanently. emo Epic fail is not enough to describe the scale of fail I had.
This email was a first-class cosmic fail of an apocalyptic scale. emo crying emo

It could very well be not an email address, but perhaps a unique identifier privately used by zOMG. Still, it is interesting to reference usernames by such an identifier.
What if that means, in the future, someone from other domains can access zOMG servers? Or, or, or, maybe it'll be a new way to PM people (but through emails? That seems odd). Or, maybe it's a Jabber/XMPP extension to Gaia IM.
Of course, I'm just speculating. In any case I wouldn't worry about it Jaft; the MTA on the server probably doesn't have any usernames other than the major admins on the @gaiaonline MTA server. :3
