George is found guilty of unconscious plagiarism of 'He's So Fine' on 'My Sweet Lord', and given a fine of 587,000 dollars for damages.

1997
Derek Taylor dies at his home in Suffolk, England, of cancer of the esophagus.

1976
Mal Evans dies in Los Angeles, in an unfortunate incident. The Los Angeles Police, mistaking his air pistol for a real gun, shoots him in self defense.

1962
Start of validity of contract with Brian.
Performance at the Thistle Cafe, West Kirkby, Wirral. 1st gig under Brian's management.

1963
Preparation for 1st British tour.

3 concert promoters, Arthur Howes, Paul Cave and Harold Fielding, contact Brian, vying for the chance to present Beatles shows at seaside resorts in the summer.


1964
'With The Beatles' number 1, 9th week (UK Record Retailer chart).
'I Want To Hold Your Hand' number 1, 1st week; 3rd week in the Top 100 (Billboard).
'She Loves You', 2nd week in the Top 100 (Billboard).
'Please Please Me', 1st week in the Top 100 (Billboard).

Celebration dinner, with Brian, at the George V Hotel, Paris.


1965
US EP release: '4 By The Beatles'.

Brian announces new plans for Cilla Black: performances on 'Sunday Night at the London Palladium' and at the Persian Room, at the Plaza Hotel, New York.


1966
Merger of the Vic Lewis Organization and NEMS Enterprises commences legally. Vic Lewis becomes a director of NEMS Enterprises.

1967
Studio 2. 7.00pm-2.30am. Recording: 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' (takes 1-9). Producer: George Martin; Engineer: Geoff Emerick; 2nd Engineer: Richard Lush.
Recording of rythm track of 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'. 1st use of DI (Direct Injection) in Beatles recordings: Paul's bass. Start of proper sessions for 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'.

John sends his Rolls Royce to USA, for his personal use.

BBC Television Rehearsal Rooms, Victoria Road, London. Ringo rehearses his appearance on the 'Cilla' TV show.


1969
'Yellow Submarine' LP, 3rd week in the Top 30 (Billboard).

1988
Clive Epstein dies, in Austria.

1990
Paul's concert in Detroit ('Get Back Tour').

1993
UK CD release: 'Off The Ground'.

1963
Concert at the Odeon Cinema, Southport, with Tommy Quickly and Gerry and the Pacemakers.

1964
'A Hard Day's Night' LP number 1, 6th week (UK Record Retailer chart).

Billboard publishes that the sales of guitars have reached its highest point since 1957, when Elvis appeared.


1965
Live Concert at the Hollywood Bowl, 2301 North Highland Avenue, Los Angeles, California, USA (1st performance). Recording: 'Introduction' (by KRLA disc-jockeys); 'Twist And Shout'; 'She's A Woman'; 'I Feel Fine'; 'Dizzy Miss Lizzy'; 'Ticket To Ride'; 'Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby'; 'Can't Buy Me Love'; 'Baby's In Black'; 'I Wanna Be Your Man'; 'A Hard Day's Night'; 'Help!'; 'I'm Down'. Producer: Engeman (Christian name unknown); Engineer: Hugh Davies; 2nd Engineer: not assigned.
Due to technical defects, nothing of this was included in 'The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl' LP.

Morning. Dizz Gillespie disappears with personal briefcases of Brian and Nat Weiss.

Concert at the Candlestick Park, San Francisco. Last Beatles concert.
Tony Barrow films and records the concert. Support act: the Ronettes.


1968
Trident Studios. 7.00pm-6.00am. Recording: 'Dear Prudence' (overdub onto take 1). Producer: George Martin; Engineer: Barry Sheffield; 2nd Engineer: unknown.
Visits at the studio: John (Paul's cousin), Jackie Lomax.

1971
Great Hall, Alexandra Palace, London. 'Art Spectrum', modern art exhibition. 5 films of John and Yoko are screened: 'Cold Turkey', 'The Ballad Of John And Yoko', 'Give Peace A Chance', 'Instant Karma!', 'Up Your Legs Forever'.

1983
