I like catchy OP like Happy Material, Ash Like Snow, Lucky Star Op and others and Ed like Itsumo Itsudemo, Sociometry, Friends and others, but I like BGMs more these days as it fills my day especialy in the game Ef: latter tale.

Ducky_Fan Ok, This Question Just Sprung Into My Mind Randomly But.. Alot Of Say We Like Anime Opeing And Ending.. But Why Do We? It Is Beacuse The Tunes Are So Catchy? Beacause The Songs Are Meaningful? Beacuse You Can Realte/Connect To The Song In One Way Or Another? Or Just Beacuse The Words Are So Beautiful?
Heh, You Get My Point On This Right? sweatdrop
..So What About Them Makes You Like Them.. All of them... ^^" Sometimes it just needs to be catchy~ x"D But I wont be interested in it soon~ Love is love~ Sometimes you cant explain~ x'D It's not math~ x'P

I don't really care for most anime opening and ending songs. A lot of times the vocals throw me off, or it's some cheesy bubblegum pop song. I have an issue with female vocals as a whole (with a few exceptions, of course), as well as the whole 'singing in Japanese' bit that annoys me.
I also seem to like OPs but not EDs.
I like...
Trigun OP Cowboy Bebop OP Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni OP (female vox exception #1) Ah! My Goddess: Sorezore no Tsubasa OP (female vox exception #2) Witchblade first OP, until I heard the detestable vocals.
And that's about it. Most times I skip the OP and ED so I can get right to the story.

Making a good opening means picking a catchy song and the right art and images to show in the opening to interest the person. The song has to match everything. So, it takes time to find the right opening song. Anyways, thats what I think makes OP's good, or bad.

I'd have to say the voice of the singer :B
However I dislike the over used bands used in an OP D: Makes me want to rip my ears off. burning_eyes

Usually what gets me is the music. Like for Slayers Next, (just using that since I watched my boxset of it recently ^^; ) I like the opening theme song because it's catchy and...I dunno. Some of the things that happen during the opening theme happen during the anime, which is kinda neat.
But I don't like the ending so much. The pictures and stuff are okay, but the song isn't that great.

They're usually catchy, have great music, a good vocalist, and it's japanese so it's awesome anyway. XD!!!!!!!

The music has to be catchy, the animation has to be good, and it all has to sync up so the finished project looks worthwhile. I take all of these things into account when choosing my favorites, as well as the ones on my top 25.
