For my Birthday I went to the zoo. I love our zoo, I think it is one of the best in the country. It's hard to get really good pictures of the animals, but I did get a few that were worth remembering.

Yes it's a red panda. I got a better picture os the coat but he turned his head so quickly it looked like he didn't have one and his face markings are so cute too. They have such similar build, markings and even some behavior to racoons that I wonder how they are related, being from different continents and all, but it seems like a common ancestor maybe. I wish I could see his feet close-up.

Thanks! That's one of my favourites too, I love the more smooth, subtle changes in the colours. The dull gray sky added to that perfectly. The water is a little scary, just lots of good clean pond scum, but still scary.
