Okay so I'm finally getting my first Lolita dress! I'm getting my cousin, she's a seamstress, to make me a replica of a dress I saw at the Mary Magdalen website. I'm getting the dress made in black too. So I wanted to know what kinda of petticoat I should get for it and also where I could buy the petticoat from. Also I'm not sure what type of hair accessory would go well with the dress so I'm kinda stuck on that too. Any and all advice is appreciated :3 This is the dress I'm getting made only mine will be in black:

An In the Starlight poof petticoat would work well with it, I think, but you should probably get your cousin to make a replica of a Mary Magdalen petti, just to make sure it'll work. 3nodding

My mom was actually telling me that I should also send her a picture of a petticoat to see if she could also make me one.

Mikuru1 My mom was actually telling me that I should also send her a picture of a petticoat to see if she could also make me one. Petticoats are really easy to make, actually, and shouldn't take more than a day. She'll probably be able to do it, it's one of the most essential wardrobe pieces of ANY girl whether Lolita or not (so says my mom, anyway). xD

Nuclear Jelly Beans Mikuru1 My mom was actually telling me that I should also send her a picture of a petticoat to see if she could also make me one. Petticoats are really easy to make, actually, and shouldn't take more than a day. She'll probably be able to do it, it's one of the most essential wardrobe pieces of ANY girl whether Lolita or not (so says my mom, anyway). xD That's good. Now I'll definitely ask her to see if she can make me a petticoat as well :3

Yeah, I basically agree with what she said.
I wouldn't just get any ITS petti. The Princess petticoat, specifically.

Just make sure to tell her to make it bell shaped, nothing like a square dancing petticoat. That's the last thing you'll want to happen. sweatdrop

An outfit looks wilted with the wrong one, or simply none at all. I second what Amani said. The petticoat should match the shape you want your outfit to take.

I'll try to explain to her about the shape of the petticoat to see if she understands what I mean. I still haven't been able to contact her about the dress, it seems that the e-mail address my mom has from her doesn't work v.v" So now I have to wait for a while to see if she replies to a message my mom sent her on Facebook x.x"
