So although I have been in mb before, I decided to play pit this year. I have never played a percussion instruments officially, but I've been playing on mallets once a week for maybe 4-5 weeks. So i've been able to play a few scales. Any advice for me to do over the summer? I really want to do well in pit. I didn't make a change for no reason. smile

I would say you should play Piano over the summer because its a lot like mallet instruments. (most of the people in my pit played piano before coming to mallets and were able to pick up the music really fast)

Learning the scales is a great idea. It'll help you learn where the notes are on paper, and on the instrument, so you can pick up the music faster.
Don't worry, they usually give you plenty of time to practice in band camp by yourselves...or maybe that's just my band...
But you sound confident, I'm sure you'll do fine. biggrin

make sure that whenever you play, your technique is correct.
