Guild Rules

If you don't read these, there will be dire consequences

1. As always, follow the TOS. This includes anything & everything stated in the Rules & Guidelines & the Terms of Service.

2. No flaming. This is stated in the TOS, but some don't quite get it yet... If you & another individual are having a spirited debate, DO NOT allow yourself to flame, insult, or personally attack the person. If you are personally attacked by some one, please inform a moderator IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT throw an insult back, because that will result in you BOTH getting banned from this guild. If it gets bad enough, a moderator can & will report you to Gaia, & you may be banned from the site as well.

3. Please keep advertising to a minimal. I understand that some people like to advertise that they do avi art & things like that, but please don't over do it. Keep any & all advertisements in the Subforum titled "Auctions, Contests, Avi Art, etc". That's what it's there for. At this point in time, I think there are few enough people here that you really only need to post one message stating what you're advertising, not several in the same forum. Ads in your sig are perfectly fine.

4. Keep it PG-13. This too is stated in the TOS, but some need to be reminded. Just because the creator of this guild (i.e. Me) has a profession that is a little above PG-13 doesn't mean that there aren't people on here younger than 18. This is still a teen website, & needs to be treated as such.

5. Please keep chat & 1337 (leet) speak to a minimal. You don't have to stop using it completely, but please make sure it's legible to others that may not know how to read it. If you think you may have a problem with this, please proof read before posting, or you can simply edit your post in case of error.
You will not be banned for spelling mistakes of any type in any way, shape, or form. We all make them, it's okay.

6. Be respectful of others & their opinions. Other people may have different opinions than you, & this applies to real life as well. Debates & the like are okay, but please don't insult some one's beliefs or make fun of them for having an opinion that differs from yours. Be accepting of new ideas & opinions that may differ from your own.

7. Feel free to post new topics, but please try to avoid repeats, if at all possible.

8. All topics & subjects are welcome. This means that you should feel free to post anything that you want about anything, as long as the material is PG-13. If you're talking about something above that (like porn, for example), that's fine too, as long as you don't post any pictures or links that go beyond PG-13.
NOTE: Cybering is WAY above PG-13 material, & is not welcome or permitted anywhere on Gaia, including (but not limited to) here.

9. Read the first post in all topics! I don't care if you think the first post is too long, or has information you already know. If you don't read the first post in a topic, you won't know the rules, or what the topic is about. This sort of carelessness can & WILL get you banned from the guild.

10. More annoying things to avoid: No bumping, spamming, or emote posts, & try not to stretch pages, unless the topic allows it. Emote posts are posts including emoticons & no words. I place them in the bumping category. Page Stretching is an annoying occurrence, & isn't welcome anywhere on Gaia. The Bump Crazy thread is the only place outside of the "Auctions, Contests, Avi Art, etc" Subforum to bump. If you get bored of either of these places, try the Bump Crazy thread:

11. Begging the Crew or Captain is not allowed. Anyone reported for doing so will be automatically banned. No questions asked.

12. If you have a problem with another user, feel free to consult the Guild Captain (FaithBlack). She would be more than happy to be the mediator & attempt to help solve your issues with one another.

13. If you have a problem with the Guild Captain (FaithBlack), take it up with another moderator. Any of the following moderators would be happy to be the mediator of any conflicts involving the guild & it's Captain: AngeredPoet, Meiglan, The Original Mr Green, & Caitiri Feylin. If you have a problem with any of the other moderators (including the ones on this list), please take it to FaithBlack.

14. HAVE FUN! Just because there are rules doesn't mean this guild can't be fun!

Thank you

Other Reminders:

1. The Guild Captain or Moderators have the right to ban you from the guild without reason. If you are banned from this guild, you have no right to complain. We reserve the right to ban you without a warning or reason. If you just happen to be unlucky enough to piss off the Captain or a Moderator by harassing them or by breaking the rules or TOS, do not go crying to another Moderator or to another member. They can't & won't help you get back into the guild, nor will they 'go on strike' because another Crew Member banned some one for not following the rules.

2. If you have received a warning from a Moderator, don't think that you're off the hook. We monitor very closely who has been warned, how many times & for what reason. Should you be warned for doing something wrong in the guild, you will get 3 chances for the lowest offense. Higher offenses, such as ToS violations, begging a Moderator, etc, will result in immediate banning.
If you 'b***h' at a Moderator for giving you a warning, you will be immediately banned because of your lack of respect for the rules & their enforcers. Once again, we don't need a reason to ban you, but give us one & we won't hesitate to do so.

3. Discrimination, Hate mail, & Flaming are against the ToS.
Some of the Crew have been frequently receiving hate mail or discrimination by many members of Gaia, including members of this guild. If you send out this sort of thing, you will be held personally responsible for for your actions, & will be immediately banned from this guild. You will also be immediately reported to a Gaia moderator for these actions, & could have your Gaia account banned from the site. This includes, but is not limited to, posts in this guild, PMs, posts in the forums, comments, Towns, Rally, etc.

4. Gaia is a PG-13 website. If you are under the age of 13, you may stay in the guild as long as a moderator does not find out. If a moderator discovers that you are under 13, you will be immediately banned from the guild & reported to a Gaia moderator. The ToS clearly states that you must be 13 years of age or older to have an account on Gaia, & the same applies to this guild.

Thank you

Frequently Asked questions:

1. Q. Will you really give me a Monthly Collectible?
A. You must win a contest or giveaway to receive an item from the Guild Captain. You will not receive an item simply for joining the guild, & the item will not always be a Monthly Collectible. To see what items you will have a chance to win, read the first post of the thread (Or in most cases, the item is in the title). Please also remember that the guild has MONTHLY Giveaways, not Monthly COLLECTIBLE Giveaways.

2. Q. Why do you let just anyone join the guild? What would make you deny a request to join?
A. All users are allowed to join because there aren't any requirements to join. If there were a requirement, we would deny users that don't meet that requirement.
The reason that we don't have a requirement to join the guild is because we don't want to become exclusive. If we focused on only one topic, the guild would only reach out to the small amount of people that enjoy that one topic, but allowing every topic in the guild makes it much more inclusive & inviting. In short, we are a guild of anything & everything.
I can't think of a reason why we would ever deny a request to join the guild, but remember that DENYING a user & BANNING a user are very different. To deny a user to to never allow them access, to ban a user to to take the access they have away.
*NOTE: As moderators of this guild, we reserve the right to deny or ban anyone from this guild. If you join this guild & it becomes obvious that you are not a good match for our guild for any reason, we may ban you in the hopes that you will find some place else that will better suit your needs.

3. Q. Will you ban me if I don't take part in the forums or donate gold?
A. No, you will not be banned for not taking part in the guild, & gold is not an issue here. If we banned every user that didn't take part in the guild, we would have a lot less members. The guild can't climb to the top of the Guild Ranking charts if we're constantly banning members, so feel free to simply join & then never come back.
Even though we don't expect you to take part in the guild, we may send you occasional PMs politely asking you to come to the guild. This is reserved for users that have been members for at least 6 months & have never posted at least 1 time & have never donated at least 1 gold. If you want to be safe from this, just post once & you'll never have to worry about it.
As for gold, that will never be an issue for this guild, & you need not worry about donating gold if you don't want to, however, even the smallest amount of gold is very much appreciated.
Again, you will NEVER be banned for not posting or donating to the guild.

4. Q. Can I apply to become a crew member?
A. We are currently not accepting crew member applications. Try back in a few months, & we may have a thread or a subforum open stating requirements.

5. Q. How do warnings work?
A. If you are warned for an action you have done in the guild, you will receive a PM in your inbox stating something along the lines of "Your post in this thread was deleted because it violates this rule. This is a warning. Please don't do it again." If you receive 2 warnings for breaking the same rule, expect to be banned the third time. The only things that will get you immediately banned are posting pornographic pictures or begging a moderator to send you gold.

6. Q. Who are the Moderators/Crew/Captain?
A. The answer to this is quite simple. Scroll to the top of the page & click on the button that says "Guild Members". When the page opens, the first on the list will be FaithBlack. Across from her name & picture will be her title, "Captain". As you scroll down the list, every user is the guild will have a title next to their name. The moderators will say Captain, Vice Captain, or Crew next to them. Everyone else will simply say "Member".

7. Q. How do we get in touch with a mod?
A. When you're looking at the members list, click on the name or picture of the moderator you would like to speak with. This will take you to his or her profile. From there, you can click on "Send a Message," or scroll down to their comments page & leave them a comment. We are all very friendly & would be more than happy to communicate with you.
