A special thanks to:

Steel-plated Ninja band

I have some major goals.

Self Improvment
1. Overcome lifelong abuse, the only times I was not subjected to abuse I was living alone or with my younger sister (even though we had our disagreements... mostly due to not seeing how we were acting out from past events).
2. Not add to the circle of abuse.
3. Work through my fears of children, men, and relationships.
4. Not mess up my next chance at a relationship.

School and Career
1. Finish College
2. Get a Career, with nice benefits and dental.

Baby steps are the only way to achieve big goals.
Right now my goals are:
1. Do my reading for school, and find more sources for my presentation due at the end of the semester.
2. Apply for next years financial aid, and register for classes. Which I will be doing shortly I hope, if I am not to tired.
3. Remain calm about my coming appointment with a blood specialist, the symptom I have could be something very serious, possibly terminal.

Excellent goals.

Introspection is one of the best tools you can have in breaking the cycle of abuse- but always remember to know your limitations. Pain can run deep, and sometimes you have to start off slowly before you're ready to tackle it. I think the baby steps is an excellent way to go.

What's your presentation going to be on?

Franz Boas he was an anthropologist. I plan to talk about who he worked with, take more in depth about his therories and methods, then point out the flaws.
I have to read the teacher's comments on my topic yet tonight, to see if she would like me to change my focus.

*yawn*

Well I need to update things.
1. I achieved A's in both my classes last semster
2. My presentation went very well, 48/50! I only missed 15 points in that class total, what an achievement.
3. I have my financial aid taken care of for next fall semester.
4. I managed to stay calm and not become afraid of the doctor visit. I am anemic so iron supplements will take care of my blood problem.

*Important Life long goal achievement*
I have also achieved something very important that I did not list in my first post.
I have found my long lost brother! I never knew my father but there are 7 kids at least, probably more. I plan to find as many ciblings as I can with my new brother. It is important to both of us to find as many as we can. It is a goal for me, I would like to meet my father at least once also.

*to lazy to dig up the post style*

i wish nothing but the best of luck for you. i'm interested to hear about your quest to find your family. i, myself, recently found out my dad was adopted. i've met my uncle, grandmother, and one of my aunts. i was invited to a family reunion in august to meet the rest of my dad's family. i just wish he was able to meet them. sadly, he'll be wrongfully incarcerated for another 4 years.

I like that your goals are a mix of high-set, hard to achieve ones but also smaller achievable ones. I think that's definitely a good way to keep yourself going.

Congrats on doing well on your presentation! Anthropology is pretty interesting, even though I only took one course on it. smile
